How to Choose the Right Bali Beach Club for Your Group

So, you’re planning a trip to Bali with your friends and homies and you’re trying to work out what beach club might work for you and your group? We’ve got you covered.

Bali’s beach club scene is truly next level and you can enjoy stunning ocean views, infinity pools, cold cocktails, and whatever vibe you’re into here.

So, let’s take a stress-free look at how to choose the right beach club for you and your gang!

Our 9 Tips On Choosing A Bali Beach Club

We’ve got 9 things for you to consider when deciding on your beach club of choice:

Think About Your Vibe

What is your group really into? Are you a looking to party like an animal until dawn every day or are you more about chilling by the pool, talking and enjoying a mocktail or two?

Or are you looking to mix things up a bit, start slow and then get into the party mood later on? Do you need to keep things PG-rated because you’ve got children with you or are you all about the adult fun?

The better you know your group, the easier it is to decide where you want to be. FINNS, for example, is all about high-energy adult fun. La Brisa more about chilling and sunsets. Flamingo is the ideal place for family groups and so on…

Think About Your Group Size

If your group is 10 people or less, you’re going to have your pick of beach clubs. But as your group size increases from there, you’re going to find certain beach clubs are better at dealing with large groups than others.

FINNS, Atlas, Potatohead, Savaya, El Kabron, etc. are going to take dealing with big groups in their stride. Warung Pantai or Le Pirate may find it much harder to deal with.

We’d recommend you talk to a beach club in advance if you want to visit as a large group, to ensure they can handle it and also to see if they have any deals available for big groups.

Location, Location, Location Matters

Mostly, you probably don’t want to travel too far for a beach club, it’s fine to catch a Grab from Kuta to Canggu, for example, but you’re going to have much less fun if you’re going from Ungasan to Seseh.

Canggu has FINNS, La Brisa, COMO Una, etc. Seminyak has Potato Head, Ku De Ta, etc. Ungasan has Klive, Karma, and more.

Think about where you’re based and how far you’re willing to go for a good time. One of the reasons that Canggu is the most popular spot to stay in Bali is because it’s on the doorstep of the best beach clubs on the island.

How Much Can You Spend?

Beach clubs can be very expensive, the Woobar at the W, for example, is extremely pricey for Bali and, indeed, for much of the rest of the world. You may be prepared to pay for a bit of exclusivity, mind you or you might not.

Then there’s the value for money category places like FINNS and Potatohead where you get great bang for buck and won’t spend as much as you would on a similar day out back home.

There are also cheap spots where you can get a few beers by the beach without shelling out too much cash. Magus Warung, for example, is excellent for this.

Don’t forget though that big groups often get discounts on minimum spend commitments and you don’t need to spend as much per head if there are 10 of you as if there were 2 of you at most beach clubs.

Amenities – What Do You Need As A Group?

What does your group want from a beach club? Great pools and restaurants? FINNS. Comfy sunbeds around a single pool? Potatohead. Water sports in the sea? Sundays.

Kid-friendly areas? Reef Beach Club or Cocoon. Influencer friendly spots? Oneeighty. Find out what your people need and then match their needs to your favourite beach club.

The Crowd And Atmosphere Around You

Some places draw big crowds and manage them well – FINNS, for example. Some draw big crowds and get a bit full – Single Fin, for example.

Others are always a little calmer – like Mano Beach House or Mari Beach Club.

And weekends are always busier than weekdays and high season is busier(usually) than low season.

Think about the energy you want around you before deciding on when to book as a group.

Don’t Forget To Check What Deals Are On

Groups often get deals from beach clubs who will be happy to sign up a large number of covers at once.

But you should also check a club’s website and social media, what drinks and food promos are they running? You can often save a small fortune as a group by buying special deals in bulk.

Booking A Day Bed (or More Than One) – Logistics And Planning

Finally, you can’t afford to leave things up to chance if you want to go to a beach club as a group – get a booking arranged in advance.

And on the day, remember to leave time for the Bali traffic and to arrange transportation for the whole group in advance too.

Then, you can kick back and enjoy an amazing day as a group at Bali’s beach clubs.

Our 10 Best Beach Clubs For Different Vibes

So, we’ve broken this down into 5 different vibes and two beach club recommendations for each – partying, chilling, family days out, budget friendly and being right out of the way. Here’s what we came up with.

Party Hard

If you’re in Bali to party, you’ve got some great beach clubs to choose from:

FINNS Beach Club

FINNS is the island’s top party spot and there’s nowhere else on Earth quite like it. They don’t call it the world’s best beach club for nothing, after all.

If you want live DJs, incredible entertainment, cold drinks, elegant surroundings, amazing food and service, you’re in the right place at FINNS.

We recommend getting there early and making a day of it. Chill by the pool, see in the sunset from the infinity pool with a cocktail in hand and then dance until they close!

Ku De Ta

Ku De Ta is Bali’s oldest beach club and while it’s not quite in the same league as FINNS, it’s a great place to shake your booty and let it all hang out.

In fact, one of our key issues with this place is that the music can be overwhelming in certain parts of the venue, but that may/may not be a problem for your crowd.

You’re sure to have an amazing day out at Ku De Ta and the cocktails are first rate.

Chilling Out

If you’re looking for a more mellow time by the sea, with conversation rather than tunes as the centerpoint of your day – you might consider:

Potato Head Beach Club

Potato Head is where we go to nurse the hangovers we got at FINNS. It’s our second favourite beach club in Bali and a great place for chilling out.

The club is also one of the most eco-friendly places on the island which means you can help to make Bali a better place by supporting it.

They have an anything goes attitude at Potato Head and you can wear what you like, be who you like and even take your pets with you.

La Brisa

La Brisa is a very relaxed place to hang out and we’d recommend visiting on a Sunday when the Sunday farmers market is set up on the grounds.

We like their use of reclaimed wood in the furniture and it’s a beach club where you don’t need to agree to a minimum spend if you take a seat at the bar.

Our team tends to go to La Brisa for a warm up session before bigger and better things, usually at FINNS.

Family Focused

Not every beach club is ideal for children and the party venues are often a little on the steamy side for young eyes. But these places love to welcome your little ones.

Cocoon Beach Club

It’s more of a pool club, per se, than a beach club but Cocoon is great value for money and has an excellent onsite restaurant.

Sure, you can’t get directly on to the beach here, but you can kick back by the pool and let your kids run riot while you enjoy the excellent food from the restaurant.

It’s got a unique vibe and families we know often head to Cocoon for a little treat in the Bali heat.

Flamingo Beach Club

Flamingo is the most family-oriented beach club on the island and the whole thing is set up to ensure that you kids will have a great time.

The pools have floats, they have games and play areas and everything is kept under the watchful eye of well-trained staff.

Kids particularly tend to love their BBQ buffets on Sundays where you can enjoy a beach BBQ as a family.

Budget Conscious

Beach clubs in Bali can be a little heavy on the wallet but if you’re waiting for pay day to come around, don’t worry – these places offer affordable fun for everyone:

Warung Pantai

This old school beach bar set up is just up the coast from Canggu and if you want cheap Bintangs and glorious sunsets, you’re in the right place for it.

We like that there are no entrance fees, minimum spends, etc. and you can just go and pull up a seat and enjoy the warm weather and great service.

Places like this are disappearing in Bali, now and we will miss them when they’re all gone. So, make sure to stop in on Warung Pantai if you’re nearby.

Magus Warung

Ungasan is the most expensive part of Bali when it comes to beach clubs and, for the life of us, we have no idea why – it’s not home to the best beach clubs, they’re nearly all in Canggu and Seminyak.

However, Magus Warung is a happy exception on Melasti Beach and it’s one of our favourite spots in that area.

No entrance fee, no minimum spend, reasonable prices and cold beers, what more could you need?

Out Of The Way

Sometimes, you just want to get off the beaten track as a group and visit somewhere that few others in Bali will have seen. If that’s you, here’s where you might try:

Ohana’s

Nusa Lembongan is the most popular of the three Nusa Islands which are off the coast of mainland Bali. However, it still sees a tiny fraction of the visitor numbers that you see here in Bali proper.

Ohana’s is Lembongan’s best beach club and it’s a great place to grab a few cocktails by the pool and enjoy some great food.

It even has the occasional party when the vibe is right and it can go quite late into the night.

Address: Nusa Lembongan, Gg. Nusa Indah Jl. Jungutbatu, Jungutbatu, Kec. Nusa Penida, Kabupaten Klungkung, Bali 80228, Indonesia

Le Pirate Beach Club

If you’re more in a budget conscious mood out in the Nusa Islands, this beach club on Nusa Ceningan (the smallest of the three Nusa Islands) is just about perfect.

No minimum spend, no entrance fee, reasonable prices, amazing sunset views and a really relaxed vibe.

It’s not too hard to find and you’ll be hard pushed to find anything further out of the way than this beach club.

Our Rating: 59/100

One Final Note: If your party is huge (e.g. more than 20 people) we’d recommend that you contact your chosen venue a long way in advance and try and arrange something with the venue. You may get discounts or special seating arrangements this way.

Most beach clubs will be delighted to hear if there are one hundred covers arriving together and will want to make sure they’re set up to receive you in the way that you deserve.

FAQs

Are Beach Clubs In Bali Worth It In 2025?

Yes! We think beach clubs in Bali aren’t just worth it in 2025, we think they’re a staple part of the experience of visiting this wonderful island of ours.

Just think about it – 1 in 8 visitors to Bali will go to FINNS Beach Club this year, alone. Nearly all of the people who come to Bali will visit, at least, one beach club and many will visit several beach clubs.

Not only is Bali the world leader when it comes to the beach club scene, but the chance to be wined and dined in luxurious comfort by the ocean isn’t something most of us can enjoy everyday.

We run a blog about the best beach clubs in Bali because we believe that not only do beach clubs make your holiday better, but they’re also good for the Balinese people helping to provide jobs and prosperity for the island.

What Beach Club Should I Go To In Canggu?

Canggu is home to FINNS Beach Club and that means there was only ever going to be one answer from us to this question – you should go to FINNS.

It’s the best place to enjoy a cold cocktail in a pleasant infinity pool watching the world’s best sunset anywhere on the island, in fact, not just in Canggu.

Should I Book FINNS Beach Club?

You don’t have to book a daybed at FINNS Beach Club. The club will, usually, accept walk-in guests. But… you should be aware that on NYE if you don’t have a ticket and a daybed booked, you won’t get in.

And secondly, FINNS is the busiest beach club in Bali. During peak season, if you just walk-in the door, you are very unlikely to be able to get a daybed of any kind.

You’ll probably still be allowed to sit at the bar or in one of their restaurants (and that means no entrance fee and no requirement for a minimum spend) but if you wanted to chill out by the pool, you may be out of luck.

We’d always recommend that you book a daybed at FINNS in advance and only using their official site. It just makes sense, you get the best deal on a minimum spend that way and you can be 100% sure that you will get the spot you want to sit in.

What To Wear To A Bali Beach Club?

Beach clubs are informal places, in the main, and they’re meant for you to have a great time in the sun. That means you can wear beachwear in most parts of a beach club or pretty much any kind of clothing that is decent and presentable.

Don’t wear sports team merchandise, alcohol branded merchandise and some clubs will have a ban on facial tattoos.

You may also find that many beach clubs have certain areas within the club where you are expected to dress up a little and you may need a shirt/dress/trousers/shoes/etc. to get in. Always check the terms and conditions for the beach club you intend to visit to be sure.

Why Is FINNS The Best Beach Club?

FINNS is considered to be the world’s best beach club and that’s because it constantly reinvents itself to provide the best possible beach party experience.

There’s nowhere else in Bali that comes close to replicating FINNS’ attention to detail and passion for excellence.

It also has, by far, the best entertainment of any beach club we’ve ever visited. You can’t be bored at FINNS.

Surprisingly, it’s also very good value for money and is cheaper than many clubs that offer a lesser experience.

Can You Just Turn Up To FINNS Beach Club?

You can “just turn up” to FINNS Beach Club but they may have to turn you away if the place is full. Also, if you want to visit FINNS on a New Year’s Eve, you need to buy tickets in advance – they won’t let you in without one and they don’t sell them on the day.

However, if you are allowed to walk in, you can sit in the bars or restaurants without paying any kind of entrance fee or agreeing to a minimum spend.

If you want a day bed, you will need to agree to a minimum spend and this will usually be a higher amount than you would have got from booking online.

Final Thoughts On How To Choose The Right Bali Beach Club For Your Group

Choosing a beach club for a group can be a little challenging after all, it’s hard to please everyone all of the time, right?

However, if you use our guide above, it will help you quickly decide which places should be on your shortlist and which you should eliminate.

Bali has a beach club for everyone and you’re bound to have a great time wherever you decide to go.
