Amed Paradise Beach Club isn’t really a beach club in the usual sense of the word. It’s part of a hotel complex and it’s only open to guests of that hotel.
While normally, that would exclude this place from our reviews, a night in this hotel is so cheap that the beach club is an amazing perk and thus, we decided to splurge a little and spend a night in the hotel to get to use the facilities.
So, this is what our team learned at their day (and night) at the Amed Paradise Beach Club.
Introduction – Getting To Amed Paradise Beach Club
Amed is in East Bali and on the North side of the island, which means it’s a bit of a drive from most of the other beach towns and from Ubud.
However, that’s a good incentive to spend, at least, one night in a hotel if you’re visiting Amed and that might be a deciding factor in your visit to the Amed Paradise Beach Club.
You can get a Grab or Gojek to Amed, but you’ll probably find it’s better value to hire a private driver for the day (500,000 IDR including car, driver and fuel – that’s $35 USD or $50 AUD), instead.
In fact, if you intend to stay in this area for a while, it’s often easier to retain a driver, than it is to use ride-sharing because of the relative remoteness of this area.
When you arrive at the hotel, there is parking onsite and you will be welcome to use it, which is handy.

What’s Inside Amed Paradise Beach Club?
We will confine our review of this beach club to the beach club facilities and not to the hotel itself, so the beach club has comfortable seating, bar and restaurant service and a pool area.
Our Review Breakdown For Amed Paradise Beach Club
We review all beach clubs in Bali on the same basis, this allows us to be entirely fair to the beach club owners who can be certain they’re being judged on a level playing field and to the readers of our reviews who can use them to make easy comparisons.
However, this format doesn’t always work perfectly for non-standard venues and their scores may suffer, even if they are great at what they intend to do. This is, to some extent, the case for Amed Paradise Beach Club. Also, we don’t review hotels and thus, we won’t pass comment on the hotel facilities in this review.
But, the format remains the same and that means we send all of our team to the beach club, where they grade against the criteria laid out below between 1 and 5. 1 being the worst, and 5 the best.
Then, after everyone has been (and they may not all go on the same day or at the same time), the team meets to discuss their findings and to take a vote on a final score in each category.
Finally, one team member writes up the review based on the discussions and incorporating the final grades.
Once that review goes live, it remains on our site for a period of at least one year. After that, we may revisit the club and amend our comments and grades accordingly.
Pre-Club Advertising
We found that this hotel and beach club doesn’t even have a website of its own, with all of its bookings seemingly taken through online platforms.
We find this a bit confusing, it’s 2025 and while this is a low cost resort, it’s not in the extremely low budget range and a website is not expensive to put together.
Without the basics of an online presence, it won’t come as a huge surprise that this beach club doesn’t advertise.
That’s a downside for us, because we believe that beach clubs are social places, and they’re at their best when they are full of people to talk to and meet.

Location
Amed is a pleasant former fishing village, but there’s no denying that it’s not one of the top tourism destinations in Bali, right now and that it’s quite a drive from the more popular spots.
People generally go to Amed for the diving and the area is home to the wreck of the USAT Liberty and it’s awesome for snorkelling too.
So, it’s a long drive to get to Amed for most people and that’s not always convenient, particularly if you’re only on a short break in Bali.
The other downside of the location is that this beach club is on the wrong side of the island for an impressive sunset, though as it’s a hotel guest facility, you could get up really early in the morning and enjoy the sunrise.
The property is located conveniently in the centre of Amed, though and within a short walking distance of many other amenities.
Booking Process & Seating Options
A beach club without a website has no booking process. To be fair, given that this facility is only open to hotel guests, it doesn’t really need one.
While we’re firm believers in online booking, particularly for beach clubs that are a long way from the resort towns, it doesn’t matter too much at Amed Paradise Beach Club.
You can book the hotel online through Booking.com and the other usual suspects and if you have a booking for the hotel, you can use the beach club.
However, there’s absolutely no way to reserve seats which are allocated on a first-come, first served basis.

Entry Fee
While technically, there is no entrance fee for the Amed Paradise Beach Club, which is in keeping with the best practices of beach clubs in Bali – you do have to stay at the resort to get in.
So, we consider that an entrance fee of sorts. A typical night in this resort is a very reasonable 585,000 IDR which is about $40 USD or $60 AUD.
That means we don’t consider it expensive to use this beach club, particularly, as most of us will need a place to stay if we visit Amed.
But we can’t award any points in this category, either. As technically, this is the highest entrance fee of almost any beach club in Bali.
Minimum Spend
The good news is that there’s no minimum spend expected when you use this beach club, the hotel management provide this facility for guests and that’s completely open-ended.
So, you can enjoy a day by the pool here in total comfort and you’re not even required to consume food and drinks provided by the hotel.
We’re marking this category down, not because we feel this is a bad deal, but because we consider minimum spends a useful way of securing a seat and you still can’t secure a seat at this beach club.
Welcome And Security
There’s a very warm welcome at the Amed Paradise Beach Club and the front desk staff will be absolutely delighted to help you get your bags to your room, before you visit their beach club.
However, there are absolutely no security guards around and there aren’t any bag checks of any kind, either.
Now, we don’t really expect you to encounter any trouble in the wilds of Amed, it’s not a big “target” in the scheme of things, but we like bag checks – the safety of every visitor should be a priority to a business.

Inclusions
As you might expect as a hotel guest, every guest is entitled to the use of a towel for the pool and access to the changing rooms and shower facilities.
However, that’s it and there are no other tiers of inclusive services that you can access by paying a fee.
That’s a bit of a shame, we like access to perks on our holidays and we don’t mind paying for those perks. Most beach clubs in Bali are missing a trick on this including Amed Paradise Beach Club.
Service
We thought the service at Amed Paradise Beach Club was exemplary of Balinese hospitality and while it may lack the polish of a 5-star hotel compound, it’s more than good enough.
The beach club and hotel can be very proud of the contributions of the service team and we enjoyed all of our interactions with them.
We found them to be friendly, informed, attentive and most of all, efficient.

Entertainment
As with most small hotel beach clubs, there is no entertainment available at the Amed Paradise Beach Club, we can’t imagine that it would be economical to provide entertainment to such a small place.
We’d also be surprised if all hotel guests would want a band or DJ playing right outside their window once they hit the hay. And in Amed, people tend to go to bed early, most of the town is counting sheep by 10 p.m.
That’s OK, that makes this a great place to chill out by the pool and relax the day away. Sometimes, that’s all you need.
Pool Quality
The pool area is a real treat at this beach club and it’s small, perfectly formed, big enough to swim in and cool off in the heat of the day.
It’s also brand new and thus, in a great state of repair and it’s always kept clean. The day beds around the side of the pool are also a bit more luxurious than you might expect in a relatively low cost hotel.
Menu/Drinks Pricing
The menu isn’t hugely extensive at the Amed Paradise Beach Club but there’s no doubt that what they do have is very fairly priced.
In fact, we’d even go so far as to say that this is one of the cheapest beach clubs that we’ve been to for food and drinks.
If you like Balinese dishes and cold cocktails that are served without much fuss, you’ll be very happy with the prices.

Food And Drink Quality
It’s not going to feature on any “best restaurants in Bali” lists but we enjoyed the food here, it was tasty and homely and made with fresh, quality ingredients.
We also found the drinks to be plenty strong enough when we ordered cocktails, which is always a plus.
Sunset View
Unfortunately, Amed is on the wrong side of the island for a sunset view. Now, we should stress that this place should, in theory, have a great sunrise view and because it’s a hotel facility, you can get up early and sit on a sunbed to watch that sunrise.
But, we didn’t. Because 6 a.m. at a beach club isn’t really our thing. The sunrise might be glorious in Bali, but we’ve seen it once and that’s enough for now.
Music And Ambience
There is some very light piped music in this venue, but it’s definitely designed to act as a gentle backdrop for conversation and the sound of the ocean on the beach.
We don’t mind that, we don’t come to Amed to dance all day long, we come to swim, eat and drink with friends.
Payment Options
You can pay by cash, card and yes, even QRIS in this hotel. We suspect the fact that it’s only recently opened makes this the case. The management team are on the cutting edge of payments in Indonesia.

Exit Process
Leaving this beach club is simply a matter of wandering back into the small hotel or heading down the beach.
The staff will wish you a warm farewell if they see you as you leave.
Transportation
This is Amed and while you can get Grab and Gojek services, they are few and far between. You will probably want a private car and driver or your own scooter here. There is onsite parking for both.
Social Media Presence
Sadly, if this property has some social media presence, we couldn’t find it. Again, we don’t really understand why not. The Amed Paradise Beach Club is nice, it would look great on Instagram and it would take only a few minutes each week for the place to sort out its social media.
Other/General Comments
The biggest issue with this beach club is its refusal to engage with the technological age. No website, no social media, etc. isn’t really good enough in 2025.
And worse, it detracts from the reality that this is a nice facility and if you’re in the mood to relax, it’s a good choice of beach club in Amed.
Our Overall Opinion Of Amed Paradise Beach Club
So, the low final rating belies the fact that this is a pleasant small hotel beach club which is a nice perk for their resort guests.
It’s certainly not worth coming all the way to Amed just for the Amed Paradise Beach Club but if you are in the area, staying here is a good way to get access to a solid beach club facility built with chilling in mind.

FAQs
Can You Swim At Amed Paradise Beach Club?
Yes, in fact Amed Paradise Beach Club has a lovely pool area with some comfortable day beds around it. These are only for use by the guests of the hotel of the same name as the beach club, so most of the time the pool is not crowded and very easy to swim in.
The hotel is brand new and the pool area is clean, well-maintained and attractive too.
You can also access the local beach directly from the beach club and this is a top spot for snorkelling on the island and it’s much safer to swim in the sea here (as long as you obey the warning flags) than in much of the South of the island.
What Can You Do At Amed Paradise Beach Club?
This is a hotel beach club facility and that means you can chill by the pool, swim and enjoy some food and drink.
This is definitely not a party destination and there are no wild parties or entertainment to be had in this venue (not least because it might disturb other hotel guests).
Is Amed Paradise Beach Club A Family-Friendly Venue?
Yes, the Amed Paradise Beach Club is very much a family-friendly venue and children are welcome to stay in the hotel here and to use all the beach club facilities.
However, it’s worth noting that there are no special children’s facilities and your kids will need to use their imaginations to get the most out of a day here.
We should also note that, in keeping with other family-friendly places in Bali, parents are expected to keep an eye out for their children’s safety and to ensure that they are not annoying any other guests enjoying their stay.
Who Owns Amed Paradise Beach Club?
Amed Paradise Beach Club doesn’t make its ownership public details but it’s very clearly under Balinese ownership.
Final Thoughts On Amed Paradise Beach Club
Amed Paradise Beach Club is a great hotel beach club. It’s not in the big leagues of Bali’s beach clubs but then, it’s not really trying to be.
This is a small resort in a less-visited part of Bali and it offers an ideal spot to chill out for the day between splashing around in the pool or snorkeling in the sea.
While we wouldn’t drive all the way to Amed just for this place, next time we’re going to Amed, the Amed Paradise Beach Club could well be the resort we choose to stay in, the beach club facility is a great perk for a very reasonably priced hotel room.
