Ayodya Beach Club And Grill Review: A Day To Enjoy At Ayodya Resort Bali

If you’re in the mood for some enchanting white sands on a super clean beach in the resort town of Nusa Dua, then the Ayodya Beach Club & Grill at the Ayodya Resort Bali might be what you’re looking for.

Our team were delighted to head off to Mengiat Beach to enjoy some white sand by the Indian Ocean to find out what you can expect at the Ayodya Beach Club and this is what they learned.

Introduction – Getting To Ayodya Beach Club

Ayodya Resort Bali is in Nusa Dua and the Ayodya Beach Club is not far from the famous Waterblow in this area.

It’s not the worst part of the island to get to and it’s a short(ish) drive from the airport and Sanur, but given Bali’s infamous traffic, it can take a lot longer to get there than it appears on the map.

That means you’re looking at 1-2 hours to reach the Ayodya Beach Club.

Where Is Ayodya Beach Club? Jl. Pantai Mengiat Jl. Raya Nusa Dua Selatan, Benoa, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80363, Indonesia

Website: Ayodya Beach Club

Opening Hours: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, except Nyepi

What’s Inside Ayodya Beach Club?

There are bar and restaurant services available when you visit the Ayodya Beach Club. There are also several seating areas, some on the white sand of Mengiat Beach and others on a charming lawn area.

However, there is no pool (though if you are staying at the Ayodya Resort Bali there is a pool in another part of the resort).

Our Review Breakdown For Ayodya Beach Club

We try to review every beach club in Bali in the same fashion. This ensures we treat all the clubs fairly and without bias and it means that you, our readers, get to see a consistent format to help you compare clubs.

That means that our team visits the beach club (though we should note that they do not all go together or even at the same time) and make notes and rank the beach club against the 20 criteria listed below from 1 (worst) to 5 (best).

Once the visit is over, they meet up and each person contributes to a discussion where they vote on a final score in each category and check that the feedback is representative of the whole experience at the beach club.

Finally, somebody in the team writes up the review based on these discussions and once it goes live, it will remain in place for, at least, a year before we return and add or subtract points as required.

Pre-Club Advertising

We didn’t know that Ayodya Beach Club & Grill even existed until we started to do our research for this website.

That seems a bit of a shame as this is a nice facility and it could certainly use a few more guests than it currently seems to enjoy.

Pre-club advertising is important to visitors because it’s a sign that they can expect a busy and fun day at the club, whereas without it, it’s all too easy for people to overlook a club in favour of one that does advertise.

Location

Nusa Dua is a very popular resort town in Bali famous for the enchanting white sands of the beach and there’s no doubt that this beach club is fairly easy to get to if you’re in Nusa Dua.

However, it is a much longer drive from the rest of the island and you will find that the Bali traffic can be quite unbearable given the (theoretically) short distances between the Ayodya Beach Club and somewhere like Canggu or Ubud.

Once you reach the Ayodya Beach Club, the area is quite lovely, however, and you can enjoy some of the nicest beach views in Bali.

There’s not much within walking distance of the resort though and you may need to hire transport even if you intend to stay in the area after you finish at the Ayodya Beach Club.

Booking Process & Seating Options

You can book online via the resort website, but… it takes you to a WhatsApp facility. Now, sure there’s nothing wrong with the human touch in reservations but we can’t fathom why a resort can’t invest in a booking engine for their website in 2024, either.

It’s so much easier to visit a website, click where you want to sit, pay whatever deposit you need to pay online and then get gone, than it is to go back and forth with a reservations agent.

Rating:

Entry Fee

You will need a “day pass” to use the Ayodya Beach Club facilities. Now, we’re not big fans of entrance fees but this one does come with some inclusions (see below), so we’re not going to mark this beach club down as far as the clubs that don’t.

The day pass is 150,000 IDR for each adult and 75,000 IDR for each child.

Rating:

Minimum Spend

There is no minimum spend at the Ayodya Beach Club and that makes us fee slightly better about the entrance fee.

You only need to pay for the food and drinks that you consume and you are free to leave at any point without having to use up your deposit.

Welcome And Security

There is a very friendly welcome at the Ayodya Beach Club and the resort staff have been clearly trained to ensure that every person who walks through the door feels good about being there.

However, there’s no bag check of any kind and we wish that there was. We feel that every business should be looking to secure the safety of their guests and while incidents in Bali are rare, they are rare partly because of good security.

Rating:

Inclusions

The entrance fee comes with some inclusions – you get use of a pool towel, the use of the swimming pool, the right to use a sun lounger or a beanbag chair, and you get a 100,000 IDR voucher towards either the Kids Club or the Spa facilities at the resort.

That’s a pretty good list of inclusions, though we might prefer a voucher towards food and drinks and it makes the entrance fee more bearable.

However, there’s no premium or VIP tier service with additional inclusions for an additional fee.

Rating:

Service

The service at the Ayodya Beach Club & Grill is very good and we didn’t have any complaints. It wasn’t quite the best service on the island but it was friendly, warm, efficient and competent.

Rating:

Entertainment

The Ayodya Beach Club is really a chill-out place with a bar and restaurant, there’s no entertainment here apart from a little piped music.

That’s fine. If children need entertaining, you can use the Kids Club vouchers to ensure they have fun in the resort under supervision and adults come here to swim and sun themselves with some food and drink.

Rating:

Pool Quality

There is a small pool area at the Ayodya Beach Club and you can swim in the pool as long as you’ve purchased a “day pass”. The water is clean and the area is relatively well maintained.

Rating:

Menu/Drinks Pricing

The food and drinks are surprisingly well-priced at the Ayodya Beach Club & Grill. Particularly, given that this is Nusa Dua and many of the resorts in this area charge very high premiums for their nice spot on the beach.

The only thing on the menu that felt “expensive” was the cheeseburger of all things, otherwise, we’d say that for this area, this beach club is pretty cheap.

Rating:

Food And Drink Quality

The food here is excellent, it’s tasty and well-presented so that it will look amazing in your Instagram feed. The Ayodya Beach Club & Grill is very much focused on delivering value for money.

The drinks were what we’d expect from a top-quality resort, strong enough, well-mixed and beautifully composed.

Rating:

Sunset View

Nusa Dua is on the wrong side of the island for great sunset views. In fact, the area is much better positioned for sunrise.

This is a bit of a shame as none of the beach clubs here are open to the public at sunrise.

You will get a bit of a light show in the sky above the ocean when the sunsets but if you want the spectacular Balinese sunset – you’ll need to head to Canggu, Seminyak, Jimbaran, etc.

Rating:

Music And Ambiance

The music in this venue is piped in and while we were there it was pleasant and inoffensive. The overall vibe is friendly and relaxed.

Rating:

Payment Options

You can pay by cash or card anywhere in the resort and the Ayodya Beach Club & Grill but we saw no facilities for QRIS payments or e-wallet payments.

Rating:

Exit Process

This is a very small beach club and you exit the same way as you came in. There’s nowhere for you to get lost.

The staff will give you a hearty farewell as you depart marking a pleasant end to a pleasant time by the sea.

Rating:

Transportation

As this club is in a resort, you can drive easily to this club and park there. Grab and Gojek can also drop you at the front door without a problem.

Leaving is OK if you drove, you just pick up your vehicle and go but for those using ride-share, you might need to wait a while for a ride, particularly at busy times of day as there aren’t as many drivers out here as there in places like Canggu, Kuta and Seminyak.

Rating:

Social Media Presence

The Ayodya Beach Club has no social media presence of its own to speak of. There are some shots on Instagram of people in this beach club, but they’re uploaded by guests, not by the resort or the Ayodya Beach Club.

However, if you can track down those pictures, they do offer a reasonable insight into what to expect at this spot on the enchanting white sands of Mengiat Beach.

We’ve got to say that we find the absence of a strong social media presence in 2024 quite bizarre. Most of Bali uses Instagram in preference to the actual internet and you will find that many businesses here have an Instagram but no website.

So, the fact that the Ayodya Beach Club has this back-to-front is just odd. Don’t let that put you off paying the Ayodya Beach Club a visit, mind you.

Rating:

Other/General Comments

The Ayodya Beach Club is very much a resort facility and we like the fact that it’s open to walk-in visitors and those who book in advance too.

While it’s not the most exciting beach club that we’ve ever visited in Bali, if we were staying in this hotel we’d be very pleased with the view and vibe of this chilled-out place.

Our Overall Opinion Of Ayodya Beach Club

Ayodya Beach Club & Grill is a pleasant experience that doesn’t quite rival the big beach clubs but makes for a nice relaxing day by the beach in Nusa Dua.

We wouldn’t travel across the island for it, but if we were in the area, we’d definitely drop in for lunch.

Final Thoughts On Ayodya Beach Club

The Ayodya Beach Club is an excelletn facility for guests of the Ayodya Resort Bali and it’s worth checking out if you’re on Mengiat Beach or close by in Nusa Dua.

However, there’s not much that makes this place stand out from the crowd other than the enchanting white sands of the local beach and if you’re further afield, it’s probably not worth spending 2 hours in traffic for the Ayodya Beach Club alone.
