We’ve been out and about all over Bali, recently trying to ensure that we’ve reviewed every single beach club on the island, and it was nice to find one we’d overlooked a bit closer to home – Moreno Beach Bali is in Sanur.
So, our team got up early one morning and made the trip to Sanur to investigate this place and see if it was worth spending a whole day at Moreno Beach Bali, and this is what they learned.
Introduction – Getting To Moreno Beach Club Bali
Moreno Beach Bali is just around the corner from Bali’s newest and supposedly largest shopping centre – ICON Bali.
This is both a good thing, assuming you need to do some shopping during the course of the day, and a bad thing, as it means the traffic around this area is even heavier than it used to be.
So, we’d suggest setting off earlier than you’d think you might need to if you want to get to Moreno on time; the traffic here can really add an hour or more to your journey time at peak periods. We shudder to think what it will be like at Christmas time.
Fortunately, once you’ve overcome the traffic, the beach club is in a lovely location directly on Sanur beach with a nice view of the sands and the ocean.
You can be dropped off at the front door if you came by Grab or Gojek, and there is free, secure parking available if you drove yourself.
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed warmly by the staff, and they will ensure you can find a place to sit.

What’s Inside Moreno Beach Club Bali?
This is more of a restaurant than a full beach club, and you can enjoy all-day dining at the seating areas inside. There is, however, no pool or entertainment provided.
Our Review Breakdown For Moreno Beach Club Bali
We aim to treat every beach club equally during the review process, both because this is fair to their owners who can see we use the same criteria every time and because it allows our readers to be able to make like-for-like comparisons regarding what matters to them.
The process we use is simple. Firstly, all the members of our team are asked to go and visit the beach club in question. They do not all go at the same time or even on the same day. This allows them to grade the beach club from 1 (worst) to 5 (best) in the categories laid out below.
After all of the team has spent some time in the beach club, they meet up and discuss their various experiences. They also take a vote on the final grade in each category. This allows for all their views to be represented in the final review.
One member of the team is tasked with writing up that review and incorporating the discussions and scores into it.
Finally, the review is published on our website, where it will remain for a period of at least a year before we revisit the beach club and amend scores and comments as necessary.
Pre-Club Advertising
We are big believers in beach clubs advertising their services, we think it helps to attract an audience and makes the club feel busy and alive.
This, in turn, makes the time spent in a beach club a social occasion, and that’s one of the things that makes a day in a beach club memorable.
While we appreciate that Moreno Beach Bali is more of a restaurant than a fully-fledged beach club, we haven’t seen any advertisements for this property either online or offline.
And that means we can’t award any points in this category.

Location
Sanur is relatively easy to get to from the other beach towns and from Ubud, though as with all journeys in Bali – how easy depends very much on the volume of traffic on the road at the time you travel.
Because this place is next to Icon Bali mall, we’d recommend allowing extra time for your journey to and from Morean Beach Bali as there’s no doubt that the traffic is heavier here, particularly during peak periods.
Once you arrive at Moreno Beach Bali, there is some parking available, which is handy, and the restaurant is neatly perched on the Sanur shoreline. This is an attractive strip of sand which is pleasant for long sunrise walks.
And yes, sunrise, there’s no real sunset in this area because it’s the wrong side of the island. So, if you want a light show, you’ll need to get up early in the morning and go for breakfast here.
Booking Process & Seating Options
You can make reservations at Moreno Beach Club but despite having a very pretty website, they’ve not bothered to install any booking functionality and clicking “Make a reservation” takes you to a WhatsApp pag,e which is very nice if you’re still living in 2010.
Here in 2025, this is a regular failing of restaurants, hotels, beach clubs, etc. in Bali. It’s not expensive to incorporate an actual booking system into a website, and it makes life so much easier for your customers.
A booking system lets you pick your seat, pay a deposit and even pick up any terms and conditions that the venue might want to set.
WhatsApp gets the job done, but it’s slow, clunky and at times frustrating when the language skills of the person you’re dealing with aren’t great.

Entry Fee
In keeping with the practices of the best beach clubs in Bali and every restaurant that we’ve ever visited, there is no entrance fee at Moreno Beach Bali.
There is, of course, no reason that you should be charged just to walk in the door and find a seat and then pay for the food and drink you’ve consumed on top.
So, we approve of the fact that Moreno Beach Bali doesn’t charge you an entrance fee.
Minimum Spend
The absence of a minimum spend, as is the case at Moreno Beach Bali, is sort of a good thing because it means you’re not committing to buy anything until you’re there and place an order.
But it’s also a bad thing because it gives the club no incentive to operate a decent booking system or to hold your seat if you’re late for a booking.
With no minimum spend, there’s no deposit securing your seat and that means the club will often hand your booking to someone else if they’re waiting when you are not.

Welcome And Security
You will get a warm Balinese welcome at this place, but there’s definitely no bag check in sight. If you read our reviews regularly, you will know that we like bag checks.
They help to keep Bali a safe place for everyone and ensure that the time you spend inside a club or restaurant is without incident.
Inclusions
There are no inclusions of any kind at the Moreno Beach Bali, except for access to a chair while you eat and drink.
This is fair enough as they don’t have a swimming pool or any other amenities to offer, but it does make it impossible for us to award them any points for inclusions too.
Service
We thought that the service at Moreno Beach Bali was delightful, while the servers weren’t quite up to 5-star hotel standard, they were very good and were certainly a credit to their employers.
They knew the menu well and could walk us through some ideas on what to eat, and they were only too happy to make adjustments if required by dietary constraints.
We found them friendly and helpful, and pleasingly, they were also pretty efficient, which isn’t always the case here on the island.

Entertainment
This is a place for seaside dining and drinking rather than for all-night parties, so there’s nothing in the way of entertainment here.
That’s OK, to be fair, we think they’d say they let their menu do the entertaining for them and there’s no doubt that foodies will have a good time here.
Pool Quality
There is no pool at Moreno Beach Bali. There is beach access and the sea is safe to swim in, but there are no changing facilities, shower rooms, and the venue cannot lend you a towel.
Menu/Drinks Pricing
With snacks starting at 35,000 IDR (roughly $2 USD or $3.50 AUD) and main courses at around 90,000 IDR ($6 USD or $9 AUD), it’s fair to say that the menu prices are very reasonable at this place.
There is a wide range of options on the menu, and there’s bound to be something for everyone in your party.
Drinks are reasonably priced compared to other beach clubs, too.

Food And Drink Quality
We thought the food was very tasty and the portions were a decent size. It wasn’t quite the best food at a beach club ever, but it was good and we’d happily go back here to eat again.
The drinks were decently strong enough and nicely presented too.
Sunset View
Sanur is on the wrong side of the island for a good sunset view, sadly. The sunrise here is probably very nice, but we didn’t get up that early, and we doubt most beach club goers will, either.
Music And Ambience
There is forgettable background music to ensure that you have a backdrop for conversation, but that’s about it.

Payment Options
You can pay by cash or card inside this venue. But we didn’t see any QRIS options, which is a shame because it’s our preferred payment method.
Exit Process
Getting out of Moreno Beach Bali is very much the same as getting in, you just follow your way back to the front door – it’s not big enough for you to get lost.
You will be wished a warm farewell as you depart.
Transportation
It’s easy enough to get a Grab or Gojek in Sanur, though you may have to wait a little while if the traffic is particularly heavy.
If you parked nearby, you can easily get away, assuming the traffic is accommodating and there’s no taxi mafia operating here.
The Moreno Beach Bali is also within walking distance of much of the rest of the Sanur beach area if you fancy going for a stroll.

Social Media Presence
There is an Instagram page for this place, but we confess, we’ve never seen any page try so hard to be artistic and actually end up uninformative.
There’s an absence of people and, in fact, much of anything else in the photographs here and it’s hard to tell what you’ll be getting from Moreno Beach Bali.
Other/General Comments
One thing we have to mention, as we hinted at it in our headline, is that this place is concerned with doing some good on the island, and every meal sold sees a small portion of profits going to Sanur’s leading turtle conservation group.
Given that the sea turtle is a charming but endangered creature, we are very enthusiastic about being able to support some charitable efforts for this animal, while still enjoying all the creature comforts of wining and dining by the sea.
We’d like to see more beach clubs follow this kind of lead. While FINNS and Potato Head are doing a lot of good for causes here in Bali and for the environment, many other beach clubs don’t seem to be looking at how they can have a more positive impact on the island.
So, we’re giving a rare 5 points in this category for Moreno Beach Bali because saving turtles is always a good thing.
Our Overall Opinion Of Moreno Beach Club Bali
For a restaurant by the sea Moreno Beach Bali is very good. It may not be quite up there with the best fine dining spots, but it has a varied menu and everything we tried was tasty and well-made.
It also has an excellent cocktail list to help wash everything down with. We doubt we’d travel out to Sanur just for this place or spend a whole day in this beachside restaurant but we would certainly recommend that you pop in, if you’re in Sanur or especially if you’re visiting the new Icon Bali mall.

FAQs
Can You Swim At Moreno Beach Club Bali?
There is no facility at Moreno Beach Bali, and thus, there’s no way to swim at the club itself.
You can swim on the beach in the ocean by Moreno Beach Bali, and it’s one of the best places to swim in the sea anywhere in Bali.
The beach at Sanur is protected by a reef, which ensures that the currents are very mild, and even the most inexperienced swimmers can swim here safely.
The flipside of that is that it’s not the best place to go surfing, but it is good for other forms of watersports.
However, you should know that Moreno Beach Bali does not provide towels, nor does it have any form of showering or changing facilities. So, feel free to bring a towel, but be prepared to be a little uncomfortable while you dry off, etc.
What Can You Do At Moreno Beach Club Bali?
This is a bar and restaurant facility with a beachfront view. They serve breakfast, dinner and lunch, and you can sit in comfortable chairs while you eat and drink.
However, unlike most beach clubs, there is no pool and no entertainment, so you probably won’t want to spend the whole day here.
We like to go in the evening for cocktails and some light grazing on the food.
Is Moreno Beach Club Bali A Family-Friendly Venue?
Yes, Moreno Beach Bali is a family-friendly venue throughout, and children are welcome to join you for meals and drinks at this location.
However, there are no special facilities for kids, and they will be expected to spend their time with their parents and guardians rather than running loose around the place.
You are expected to ensure your children don’t annoy other guests and to take care of their own safety while they are on the premises.
Who Owns Moreno Beach Club Bali?
The owner of this beach club appears to be Paloma Blanco, a serial entrepreneur in Bali. However, we are unable to ascertain her nationality.
Final Thoughts On Moreno Beach Club Bali
Moreno Beach Bali is a very pleasant restaurant by the sea in Sanur, and the sheer variety of the menu is enough to make it an enjoyable experience if you’re passing by.
While it’s probably not enough to bring you to Sanur by itself, the fact that it’s next to the new Icon Bali shopping mall certainly makes it a good choice for shoppers seeking a break after some hard retail therapy.
It’s fair to say that it’s not really a full beach club experience, and it’s definitely not somewhere to party all night long, but overall, Moreno Beach Bali is worth a visit next time you’re in the Sanur area.
