We are Best Beach Clubs Bali, not Best Pool Clubs Bali, so we must stress that this club is not on or even particularly near the beach. It’s on the busy Jalan Raya Legian in Kuta, and the emphasis is very much on pools and day club vibes rather than a party lifestyle.
However, because there is quite a bit of overlap between pool clubs and beach clubs, we wanted to give this place a whirl and provide our readers with some insight into Bali’s newest pool club – Santhara Day Club.
It doesn’t take a lot to persuade our team to pack their bags and head out to a club, so they were waiting by the door as soon as the directions came in, and this is what they learned at Santhara.
Introduction – Getting To Santhara Day Club
While there’s no doubt that traffic in and out of Kuta can be murder at times, Jalan Raya Legian is better than the beach roads near the two big malls in this town, and it’s reasonably easy to get to from most of the popular parts of the island.
We’d be happy to visit from Ubud or Sanur, as well as Canggu, Denpasar, Legian, Seminyak, Jimbaran and Uluwatu and even, at a push, from Nusa Dua as long as we weren’t travelling in rush hour.
If you’re coming from farther afield, you probably want to set off a long time before you intend to arrive.

What’s Inside Santhara Day Club?
As you might expect at a pool club, Santhara Day Club has a very pleasant pool, and they provide free towels at the moment during their pre-opening campaign (this may change at a later date, but towel hire in Bali is rarely extortionate).
They have an on-site restaurant and bar service and regular live DJ performances in the evenings and on weekends.

Pre-Club Advertising
We believe that advertising is the cornerstone of building a busy club. If you want a buzzing social environment in Bali, you can’t rely on word of mouth.
Too many people are only here for a few days on holiday, and then they’re gone forever, so if you want their attention, you need to reach out and grab it.
So, we’re a bit disappointed to say that we’ve not seen any advertising for this club so far, though they may be saving that for the official launch.
Location
Kuta is very easy to get to from most of the popular areas on the island, though the traffic can be murder, particularly at peak hours.
However, it’s also fair to say that Kuta has gone downhill recently; the beach, which was one of the most beautiful in Bali, has been savagely eroded and there’s been an outflow of the kind of tourists this area used to attract.
Don’t get us wrong, there’s nothing wrong with Kuta, but it’s just not as attractive as other nearby parts of the island, now.
Booking Process & Seating Options
One thing that you can be pretty certain of is that there’s no official booking process when a club relies on an Instagram page rather than a website as its main means of communication with its customers.
We don’t really understand why this continues in 2026; it’s not expensive to build a website, and you can get a third-party engine for bookings.
Yes, it’s a pool club in Kuta, so it’s unlikely that it will ever be so busy that you can’t get a seat, but who wants to travel and take a chance on that when other clubs provide booking facilities as standard?
Entry Fee
While the club may charge an entrance fee in the future, during the pre-opening phase they’re not charging anything at all.
We heartily approve of this. You should always be able to walk into a club and evaluate if it’s your kind of place before you commit to buying so much as a single drink.
Sadly, it’s pretty clear that the future of this industry is going to involve entry fees, so enjoy the free entry while you can.
Minimum Spend
There’s also no need for a minimum spend during the pre-opening phase, and we’re less enthusiastic about that.
While it does mean that guests are fully in control of their own spending while at a club, it gives the club no incentive to implement a booking system and to start taking deposits.
We really like being able to secure a seat before we visit a pool club or a beach club; there’s real peace of mind that makes it worthwhile undertaking the journey in the first place.
Welcome And Security
There’s a warm welcome to be had at Santhara Day Club, and there’s a genuinely Balinese touch to this which makes visitors feel special and appreciated.
However, there’s not much going on in the way of security searches, and we’d really prefer to see bag searches, as this can make a huge difference to the overall safety of guests.
There is a small security presence on site just in case anything goes wrong, but given where this club is and the fact it’s not a party venue, we doubt much ever does.
Inclusions
We like free stuff, and during this club’s pre-opening phase, they give everyone a free drink, free pool access and a towel on demand.
That’s actually above average for the Bali scene, and we can almost forgive them for not offering a premium tier of inclusions. After all, they are being generous already.
Service
It’s not all that busy in Santhara Day Club at the moment, which means you get very personalised attention from the service staff.
And while they may not be as polished as the staff in the big resort beach clubs, they are very friendly and kind; they also know quite a bit about the menu and the local area.
We think they’re a credit to their organisation and would be happy to deal with everyone we met in this day club again in the future.
Entertainment
While they do have DJs and the like (see music below), this isn’t a day club built around entertainment, unlike say, FINNS Beach Club in Canggu.
That’s OK; not everywhere needs that kind of facility. You come to this place more to chill with mates and for a bit of a boogie in the evenings than for a full-on party.
Pool Quality
This club is in the pre-opening phase, which means it’s brand new and as such their swimming pool is a lovely feature which has no signs of wear and tear.
The water is clean and very refreshing in the heart of the day. Overall, we can’t find anything to complain about with this facility.
Menu/Drinks Pricing
While there’s no such thing as “cheap” when it comes to Bali’s day clubs, pool clubs and beach clubs, as you’d expect for this location, it’s definitely cheaper than many competitors.
However, we also felt that it was very good value for money rather than being earth-shattering value for money.
Food And Drink Quality
Partly the reason for the value score is that the food is good pub-grub-grade food, but it’s not quite in the top tier of beach clubs and nothing like fine dining.
The drinks are better (and let’s not forget that lovely free welcome drink), and we liked their presentation well enough and found them to be decently strong.
Sunset View
This club is in the middle of Kuta, and that means there’s no epic sunset view over the ocean to be had.
Can you see the sunset? Yes. Sometimes, it’s quite nice too. But is it a place that you come to for sunset watching? Absolutely not.
Music And Ambience
Having DJs doesn’t always mean that the music is amazing, and while the sound system is pretty good (which you’d hope in a brand new day club) the overall quality of tunes is just OK.
That’s fine; we don’t really go to day clubs looking for a raging party; we’re looking for some happy tunes to keep us mildly entertained, and they do that well enough.
Payment Options
One thing that you can always count on in Bali is that they’ll be happy to take your money in any reasonable way that you can pay.
That means this club takes cards, QR codes, cash, and everything else except crypto because crypto is sort of illegal in Indonesia, and while there are still some businesses using it, most beach clubs do not.
Exit Process
This is not the biggest pool club that we’ve ever visited, and once you’re inside, you will be familiar with the route back out the door already.
We do like that the staff will wish you a cheerful farewell when you leave. But there’s no big mystery to leaving Santhara, and we like it that way.
Transportation
There’s no transport mafia in this neck of the woods, which is great and finding transport on Gojek or Grab in Kuta is a piece of cake.
However, the traffic in this area can make it wise to book your ride 10-15 minutes before you want to leave, and you should wait inside the club until your driver arrives.
Social Media Presence
It’s a brand new pool club; we weren’t expecting much, and on that basis, we weren’t disappointed either.
However, the Facebook page is very basic, and given they’re using the Instagram account instead of a website, we’d expect them to put in more effort there too.
Other/General Comments
We doubt that anyone will ever fall head over heels in love with Santhara, but it’s in a relatively easy-to-access location, and the service is top-notch.
We also felt that if you were on a budget, you might want to consider this place as it’s going to see your money go further than some of the more popular spots.
Our Overall Opinion On Santhara Day Club
If you’re in Amed or Lovina or West Bali National Park, this isn’t worth a day trip, but if you’re in one of the Southern beach towns or Denpasar, it’s a pleasant enough diversion.
We liked the newness of the place and how comfortable we felt while we were there. No, this is not a competitor for FINNS or Potatohead, but it’s pretty good in its own little niche.

What Can You Do At Santhara Day Club?
You can eat, drink, swim, relax and sometimes dance at the Santhara Day Club. Its location makes it an ideal place for taking a break from shopping in Kuta and chilling out for an afternoon.
It’s not as fully-featured as the major beach clubs, and there’s no real entertainment beyond a DJ at times, but that’s OK; you’ll have fun anyway.
Who Owns Santhara Day Club?
To date, Santhara Day Club has not disclosed its ownership structure, but it seems reasonably likely that it is locally owned and operated.
Is Santhara Day Club Adults-Only?
While there’s no official ban on children at this day club yet, we think it’s very much adult-oriented.
There are no child-specific amenities, no kids’ menu, and it’s really about adults hanging out by the pool and then eating, drinking and dancing as the day draws on.
Given that Bali has a wealth of family-friendly beach clubs and pool clubs, we think if we had kids we’d go elsewhere.
It also means that is has an adults-only vibe even if there’s no official age policy.
Does Santhara Day Club Have A Dress Code?
Santhara Day Club has a light touch dress code with an emphasis on tropical casual clothing. You can wear swim trunks, linen shirts, bikinis, sandals, etc., and you’ll be fine.
What you can’t wear is anything alcohol branded or sports clothing, and if you’re not around the pool, you are expected to cover up a little elsewhere in the club.
This is pretty much the standard across all of Bali’s day clubs, beach clubs, and pool clubs with very few exceptions. Bali isn’t a particularly formal place and club dress codes tend to reflect that.
Final Thoughts On Santhara Day Club
Santhara Day Club is a pleasant enough spot in Kuta which seems to be going something of a discreet revival at the moment.
Pool clubs are never as good as beach clubs, because an ocean view in Bali with a dramatic sunset cannot be beaten, but this is a pretty good pool club.
We’d be happy to pop in and have a few hours in Santhara if we’re passing by in the future.
