Suka Sunset Beach is a relative newcomer to the Seminyak shoreline and we’re always excited to hear about some competition on the beach club scene.
So, we packed our shades, sunhats and suncream and the team went to visit Suka Sunset Beach so that we could share these findings with you.
Introduction – Getting To Suka Sunset Beach
It’s easy to find this club as it sits on Seminyak Beach and while that can mean a long ride to get there due to the traffic in this area, you won’t have any issues finding Suka Sunset.

Our Review Breakdown For Suka Sunset Beach
All of our club reviews are provided on the same basis. We use 20 different ranking criteria for each club.
We vote as a team as to which mark each club receives in each category from 1 (the worst) to 5 (the best). This ensures we have a consensus view from everybody rather than allowing any individual viewpoint to dominate a score.
Then this score is compiled to an overall score of potentially 100 (the best) to as little as 20 (terrible).
Once a review is in place it will remain in place for a period of at least 1 year before being updated.
Pre-Club Advertising
We didn’t know Suka Sunset existed until we started our best beach clubs project and that’s because we’ve never seen it advertised anywhere.
In a market with over 100 beach clubs, it’s becoming a vital part of getting bodies into the club and relying on people to search for all the clubs, like we did, isn’t going to cut it.
This also explains our biggest issue with Suka Sunset, it’s fairly empty all day long, every day.

Location
You can’t argue with an oceanfront location in Seminyak, it’s one of the most popular beaches on the island for good reason.
This is one of the few beach clubs in Bali that actually makes use of the sand too, so you can get closer to the ocean than normal.
However, you may have to move when the tide comes in.
Overall, this is a great location with access to plenty of other bars, restaurants, shops, etc. nearby.
The only downside is that when it’s busy in this area (and it is busy nearly all the time) the traffic can be murder, but that’s true of most of the island now, particularly in popular locations.

Booking Process & Seating Options
They accept walk-ins and given that this club is never full, that is probably what we’d do most of the time.
If you do want to book online, you can, but there’s no booking engine on the website to choose a bed or a place to be inside, instead, you send them a Whatsapp message and wait for confirmation.
It’s little things that add up to big things in the current Bali club scene and Suka Sunset should be doing better here, they’re part of a large hotel chain – they can afford a decent website.
Rating: 1/5
Entry Fee
There is no entrance fee to this club and you can take a seat at the bar or at any of the various tables around the area for free.
You will, of course, have to pay for food and drinks, as well as rent a towel if you want to use the pool if you enter for free.
We like this policy and think it should be a standard policy in all beach clubs. You should be able to see what you’re paying for before you pay for anything.
Rating: 5/5
Minimum Spend
As with most clubs in Bali, Suka Sunset has a minimum spend if you want to use their beanbags or single daybeds.
This is a very reasonable 250,000 IDR per person and given that a cocktail is 150,000 IDR, it’s less than the cost of two drinks.
We wouldn’t be unhappy to pay this minimum spend in any beach club and it’s a point in Suka Sunset’s favour.
However, as there are seats with no minimum spend required, Suka appears on this handy list of clubs with no minimum spend in Bali.
Rating: 5/5
Welcome And Security
The welcome at Suka Sunset was very friendly, though it might have been too friendly.
They didn’t carry out a bag check as they’re meant to do not just to confiscate the outside food and drinks, etc. from errant guests but also as a security precaution.
While terrorism is a real rarity in Bali, it’s things like bag checks, car checks, etc. that help keep it that way.
We expect more from clubs than this and hope that Suka Sunset improves.
Rating: 2/5
Inclusions
Given the low minimum spend, we didn’t expect a lot of inclusions at Suka Sunset and we weren’t surprised to find that only a towel is included.
However, that’s pretty standard around beach clubs and nothing to complain about.
There is no VIP or premier service, though, with additional benefits.
Rating: 3/5
Service
Service is an area in which we expect beach clubs to shine. That’s because you’re paying a premium for access to a pool and a nice view.
That premium should also be reflected in the service and while the service was friendly, it was also distracted.
Given that there were about a dozen guests in total while we were there, they can’t put that down as having too much to do.
It wasn’t a bad experience, but it wasn’t a good one, either.
Rating: 3/5
Entertainment
This doesn’t appear to be a consideration at all at Suka Sunset and maybe things will improve if they get a few more guests in each day?
However, for now, there’s no entertainment and not even a live DJ inside the club.
Rating: 1/5
Pool Quality
We liked the pool at Suka Sunset very much. It’s a big beautiful space with a nice view of the beach.
It was also, and we think this is the most important thing of all, very clean and fit for swimming in with your friends and family.
However, we took off a point here because there’s only one pool and that’s the bare minimum.
Rating: 4/5
Menu/Drinks Pricing
The pricing wasn’t the best we’ve ever seen in a beach club but we have to confess, it’s not expensive either.
With prices like 150,000 IDR for a pizza, you won’t go broke eating here and a drink with a meal will get you comfortably past the tiny minimum spend requirement, so why not get a single bed or a beanbag to eat it from?
Rating: 5/5
Food And Drink Quality
We were struck by how nice the food was and how well presented it was. Suka Sunset is definitely playing to its strengths with its carefully curated menu.
We imagine this is the influence of the hotel its owned by and we would happily return to eat at Suka Sunset again.
It’s not the absolute best food we’ve eaten at a club but it is very good.
Rating: 4/5
Sunset View
This is a beachfront venue and you get a wonderful view of the Bali sunset as the sun dips below the horizon of the Indian Ocean.
The sunset is one of the main reasons this side of the island is so popular and it’s an unforgettable sight.
Rating: 5/5
Music And Ambiance
If canned dance music that wouldn’t be out of place at any beach club is your thing, they’ve got you covered. It’s not great but it doesn’t actively annoy you.
However, the ambience suffers because the place is fairly empty. We hope that they rectify this in future as Suka Sunset definitely has potential.
Rating: 2/5
Payment Options
You can pay by cash or card without a problem. But QRIS, BTC, etc. are not available.
Rating: 4/5
Exit Process
Getting out of this club is completely painless and you will be given a warm farewell as you leave.
Rating: 5/5
Transportation
There is secure parking nearby but not at the club itself, which isn’t the end of the world.
It’s not hard to get a Grab or Gojek from here but you may have to wait a while, so we’d recommend ordering while you’re inside.
And there are taxi touts around, but you can ignore them, politely unless you wish to pay extra for the ride home.
Rating: 4/5
Social Media Presence
As we finalize our review it’s been 14 weeks since they last updated their social media channels.
What is there is good enough and does represent what you find at the club, but really, it’s 2024 – they should do better.
Rating: 2/5
Other/General Comments
One thing we have to say about Suka is that it’s currently the victim of being a relative unknown in a highly competitive market.
The beach club is nearly always empty until sunset and while they’re definitely working hard to remedy that, it can be a little vibe-absent during the day.
Rating: 3/5
Our Overall Opinion Of Suka Sunset Beach
Once Suka Sunset starts to get more popular, we’re hoping for great things. As it is? Well, it’s a pleasant enough spot to spend some time in the sun and the food and drinks are good value for money.
It’s not out top choice of beach club, but it’s worth a visit.

Final Thoughts On Suka Sunset Beach
Suka Sunset Beach is a pleasant place on the Seminyak shore with only one real problem – a lack of guests.
You can’t get the kind of vibe that we search for in a club without other people to share it with.
It does get busier around sunset, but then it gets quieter again and that’s a bit of a shame.
We expect that as word gets out about this place, things will improve but you should be aware of this before you decide to visit.
