The Indonesian archipelago is home to over 18,000 islands! It’s the fourth largest country in the world both by land area and by population. And as you might expect, lots of islands, means lots of beaches.
Where there are beaches, there are often beach clubs and, in fact, the island of Bali leads the world when it comes to setting the pace in the beach club scene.
But there are other beach clubs scattered around the archipelago and we sent out our team to find the best 10 beach clubs in the whole of Indonesia. This is what they found.
Our 10 Best Beach Clubs In Indonesia
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that our top 5 places are all held by beach clubs in Bali. With well over 100 beach clubs on the island, Bali is the global leader of the beach club scene.
However, the other 5 are all on different islands of the Indonesian archipelago and what they lack in refinement, they make up for with passion and drive.
We’re not suggesting that you go island hopping in search of beach clubs, mind you, but if you’re in the neighborhood, you might want to pop in and check them out.
FINNS Beach Club (and FINNS VIP Beach Club), Bali

FINNS is the world’s best beach club and if you want to party by the Indian Ocean, there simply is no better place to be.
It has awesome pools, endless numbers of bars and restaurants and incredible entertainment all day long. The sunset view over the beach and ocean is without match too.
All told, we’re not sure you can say that you’ve been to Bali unless you’ve been to FINNS. 1 in 6 international visitors to the island go to FINNS, you really should join them.
One thing we think it’s important to note, FINNS gets really busy, it’s always best to book your daybed in advance at this amazing beach club.

Potato Head Beach Club, Bali

Potato Head is almost the opposite of FINNS. Where FINNS is about parties and fun, Potato Head is about chilling by the pool to some chillout tracks.
It has a lovely oceanfront pool where you can sip cocktails and enjoy a pleasant view of the shoreline.
While some consider the music a little bland, everyone agrees that the food and drinks are very good at this beach club.

Ku De Ta, Bali

Bali’s oldest beach club may be lagging behind the two leading clubs on the island, but not by very much and it’s head and shoulders above beach clubs elsewhere in the archipelago.
They have live DJs playing some great tunes in the evenings but we found that the music can be a bit overwhelming if you’re too near the decks.
Head upstairs though and you get awesome views and enough room to hear yourself think.

La Brisa, Bali

La Brisa is all about the vibe and they’ve invested a lot of effort into the sustainable decor and ship-like decorations.
They have local DJs manning the decks from open to close and it’s much easier to get front row ocean seats at La Brisa than at some of the other clubs in Bali.
It’s a great spot for a pre-party warm up and we love going there for lunch, before heading on to FINNS for some serious fun.

COMO Beach Club

This beach club is part of a hotel complex and while that means the minimum spend is a bit higher than in most other clubs in Bali, you get a lot more personal space for the investment.
Their breakfast buffet is a nice touch that other beach clubs can’t match as they’re not even open at that time of the morning.
We also like that on Sunday, once a month, they turn into the most pet-friendly beach club on the island.

Kura-kura Boneoge Beach Club, Banawa, Sulawesi

Kura-kura Boneoge is more of your old school beach bar than a full on beach club but it has some lovely swings on the beach for Instagram photos and some comfy chairs for kicking back in.
We would note that they have a strong non-alcoholic set of offerings as well as the usual beers and cocktails as their clientele are often Muslim.
There’s no pool but the beach here is great for snorkeling and diving. If you’re passing by, don’t miss this place.

Dreamville Beach Club, Yogyakarta, Java

Dreamville is, perhaps, the most polished of our 5 non-Bali choices as it seems to have real ambition to reach the top level of beach clubs.
It’s not quite there now but you can certainly enjoy regular events and cold cocktails at this laid back spot in Yogyakarta.
The pool area is attractive and it’s excellent value for money. Try their “Legend Prawn Curry”, you won’t forget it.

Maratua Paradise Resort, Maratua, Borneo

OK, it’s not quite a beach club but it’s as close as you will get in the Indonesian half of Borneo. This is a resort front right out over the ocean and it’s gorgeous.
You’re a captive audience, so the food and drink is a little expensive, but if you’re going to stay in this area – we can heartily recommend spending some time here.
Just don’t expect parties, pools and day beds and you’ll be fine.

Mandiri Beach Club, Krui Sel, Sumatra
This is more of a surf club than a beach club proper, but it has a wonderful oceanfront spot and as you’d expect at a venue catering to surfers, there are plenty of cold beers to be had at sunset.
You’ll definitely get the most out of this beach club if you surf, but it’s still a pleasant spot to sit on the sand and enjoy the show.

Tupira Surf Club, Papua New Guinea (PNG)

We assume that there’s a pressing reason for you to be in PNG and that you didn’t go just in the hopes of a beach club.
But if you are there then the closest thing they have is Tupira Surf Club, it’s the only surf club on the island and it’s a good place to learn to surf.
You can also enjoy beers and food on the beach with some epic views, particularly at sunrise.

FAQs
Which Beach Club Is Best For Partying In Bali?
FINNS Beach Club is the best for partying in Bali. It’s recently become an adults-only venue in order to focus on creating the world’s best beach club party experience, every single day and it’s living up to that promise.
It’s not just the food, drinks, beachfront location, infinity pools, and service that make FINNS stand out – it’s the non-stop entertainment and there’s no other beach club on Earth, right now, that comes even close to the level provided at FINNS.
Are Beach Clubs In Bali Worth It?
Yes! We think beach clubs in Bali are worth it. In fact, that’s why we created this website to help you find all the best beach clubs on the island and to help you get your money’s worth out of a day at a beach club.
A typical day at a beach club in Bali, will set you back less than a night out in any major Western city and that means you can party from opening time until late in the night and enjoy amazing food too! Sure, it’s not “cheap” for Indonesia but it’s certainly worth it.
What Is The Largest Beach Club In Bali?
By reputation, the largest beach club in Bali is FINNS Beach Club. By land area, Atlas claims to be the biggest but we suspect that Potato Head might also have a claim to this title. One thing is certain, Atlas is no longer the world’s biggest beach club that’s Serene by GAIA in Dubai.
Which Beach Club To Go To In Seminyak?
We’d recommend getting in a taxi and going to FINNS Beach Club in Canggu if you want to party but if you’re in more of a chill out mood, Potato Head is the best beach club physically located in Seminyak.
Final Thoughts On Indonesia’s Best Beach Clubs
While, by far, the best beach clubs in the archipelago are in Bali, there is a nascent scene on many of the other islands.
We’d expect as tourists seek new experiences in Indonesia, for these scenes to grow, as there are plenty more beaches where people might appreciate some luxury facilities for relaxing and partying.
For now, though, there’s no doubt that Bali is the place to go for a beach club experience and that FINNS Beach Club is the number one place to be on that island.
