Klyf Club Blue Lagoon Review: The Ora Resort On Nusa Ceningan Does Well

The three Nusa Islands, Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, are becoming increasingly popular with holidaymakers trying to get a little something extra out of a trip to Bali.

They have a growing beach club scene that can’t quite compete with the mainland when it comes to parties and wildness, but which offers a laid-back, chilled-out vibe by the sea and a slice of small island life.

So, our team are always happy to check out new beach clubs in the Nusa Islands, and when they heard about Klyf Club Blue Lagoon, they jumped at the chance to visit, and this is what they learned.

Introduction – Getting To Klyf Club Blue Lagoon

The tiny island of Nusa Ceningan is the smallest of the three Nusa Islands, and the only way to get there is to get to Nusa Lembongan and then either catch a local boat or cross over the Yellow Bridge that lies between the two islands.

It’s a fairly easy trip from mainland Bali to Nusa Lembongan, though you will have to catch a boat as there are no airports in the Nusa Islands.

The journey is only about 45-60 minutes, and on calm seas, it’s quite pleasant with a lot of ocean to enjoy between the two points.

But, if it’s at all stormy, it can be a bit of a nightmare trip, and you should always ensure that you pack everything that can be damaged by seawater in sealed waterproof containers, as almost everything can get wet on a rough crossing.

Assuming you get to Nusa Lembongan OK, then getting to the Yellow Bridge is fairly straightforward, and Klyf Club provides a regular free shuttle service to the club from the bridge, which is very handy.

Once you arrive, you’ll find that you can walk straight in and there are no queues or obstacles to overcome.

We should note that this beach club is part of the Ora Resort – AVIA Blue Lagoon, but you are not required to be a resort guest to frequent the beach club.

Our Review Breakdown For Klyf Club Blue Lagoon

We strongly believe that in order for reviews to have value, they need to be fair. That means we are fair to the businesses that we review and to our readers, who ought to be able to use our reviews to weigh up the decision between different beach clubs on their holidays.

To do that, we use a single standardised review process, and every club is subject to that process. It begins when we send out our team to visit a beach club. Every member of the team will visit, though they may not do so at the same time or even on the same day.

While each person is at the beach club, they are asked to grade the club from 1 (worst) to 5 (best) against the criteria outlined below.

After all of the team has spent time in the beach club, they reconvene as a team and discuss their experiences at the beach club. They then grade the venue by voting on a final score in each category.

A reviewer is then appointed whose job it is to write up the full review of the beach club, this should reflect the group discussions and the final scores.

Finally, the review is placed live on our website, where it will stay for at least a year, after which we will revisit the beach club and update scores and commentary as necessary.

Pre-Club Advertising

We are firm believers in the power of advertising. Beach clubs are social experiences at their core, and there’s no doubt that to fill a club, you have to advertise.

Now, we get it, this beach club is on a very small island far away from the mainland, and advertising is challenging for these places.

But there’s simply still no excuse for not advertising at all, and as far as we can tell, there are no advertisements online or offline for this place, though they do have some incentives to visit on their social media pages.

Overall, though, there’s not much to get the crowds flowing to Klyf Club Blue Lagoon.

Rating:

Location

Nusa Ceningan is one of the most remote spots in Bali, and there’s no doubt that you need a certain amount of commitment to get to this club.

One thing in its favour, however, is that they lean into this and provide shuttle transportation to and from the most common entrance point to the island – the Yellow Bridge.

That’s super helpful and saves the kind of back-breaking bouncy journey that some of Ceningan’s other beach clubs require to get you through the door.

We don’t mind a free shuttle at all. We’d also note that there’s a semi-decent view of the sunset over the water towards the mainland, which is unobstructed by Nusa Lembongan.

Booking Process & Seating Options

You can, and probably should, make a reservation at Klyf Club. This is a good idea not just to reserve your bed, but also to confirm the shuttle bus pick-up times for the Yellow Bridge.

However, the only booking service they have is a WhatsApp channel, which is a pain to use and means spending much more effort than you’d need to if they’d just invest in a website and a booking engine.

Given how cheap this is to do in 2025, there’s really no excuse for a luxury resort with a beach club not to make the investment.

C’mon, Klyf Club, move with the times already.

Rating:

Entry Fee

There is no entrance fee at the Klyf Club, but given that there’s nowhere remotely close by to it and you’ve almost certainly arrived in their free transport (which you will need again to get back), they’re probably quite confident that you will spend something in the club.

The absence of an entrance fee combined with free transport, however, is going over and above the best practices of beach clubs in Bali, and we think this is a great move by Klyf Club.

Rating:

Minimum Spend

Surprisingly, they don’t ask for a minimum spend at this beach club, which is pretty generous given that they’re providing transport and no entry fee, though it is a bit of a “captive location” too, as there’s nowhere else to go in the immediate area.

However, it also means that they have no incentive to hold your reservation if you’re late, because they have beds to fill and money to make.

We can’t blame beach clubs for acting in that fashion when they have no deposit to secure the bed, but it’s just another reason to invest in a website and a booking engine rather than punishing the customer.

Rating:

Welcome And Security

You will be given a very warm welcome at this property, and it’s very clear that it’s a hotel-affiliated venue as there’s a certain amount of polish to the whole thing.

However, there is no security check, and while we appreciate that Nusa Ceningan has never seen any kind of incident, and it’s probably not likely to, we feel that bag checks should be carried out everywhere.

They help to ensure guest safety, and they aren’t difficult to implement, and they don’t just prevent big incidents but also minor ones.

Rating:

Inclusions

In addition to the free transport, if you take a seat in the pool area, they will also provide you with a towel, which is pretty generous too.

Unfortunately, it all stops there, and there are no higher tiers of service available, no matter how much you spend on food and drink.

Overall, we wish the beach club industry would rise to the challenge of offering holidaying customers some upgrades for a reasonable price.

Rating:

Service

The service here is very typical of a locally managed resort on Nusa Ceningan, big-hearted, warm and professional, with a laid-back attitude.

It’s not quite 5-star, but it’s much better than you might expect from a relative backwater like the Nusa Islands.

Rating:

Entertainment

There is no entertainment at this club, but given the location, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

This place is very much about beach chilling, not partying hard.

Rating:

Pool Quality

The pool here is excellent, and the area is well-maintained and clean. Given you can’t get to the beach, it needs to be good.

Rating:

Menu/Drinks Pricing

It’s a captive location, they’ve put on transport, and yet, the prices are still on the low side for a beach club in Bali.

If you want value for money, you will definitely want to put Klyf on your Nusa Ceningan itinerary.

Rating:

Food And Drink Quality

The food and drinks are also very good, while they’re not quite in the premier league of beach clubs, they’re not far off and once again, for the location, it’s an excellent showing.

Rating:

Sunset View

The sunset view at this beach club is stunning, and while you’re not at beach level, the clifftop view over the ocean is absolutely lovely.

Just be aware, you’re only going to see this if you’re staying in the Nusa Islands for the night; it’s not accessible to those on day trips who will be heading back to Bali by this time of the evening.

Rating:

Music And Ambience

There is a bit of piped music in this venue, which acts as a backdrop to the sound of the ocean and the conversations taking place inside.

It’s nothing to write home about, but it’s also nothing to remember after you’ve finished a day there.

Rating:

Payment Options

You can pay by cash or card at this venue. If you intend to pay by cash, you will need to bring it with you as there isn’t an ATM for miles around.

There is no facility to pay by QRIS, though, which seems like a shame as it’s a very popular local payment method and very useful for expats and locals.

Rating:

Exit Process

It’s not the biggest club, and you will just follow your way back to the front door, where the shuttle bus will be waiting to take you back to the Yellow Bridge.

If you drove yourself, your scooter will be waiting for you when you leave.

You’re sure to get a cheery farewell as you step out of this club, too.

Rating:

Transportation

They provide free transportation to and from the door at this beach club, and you can’t really argue with that.

That there’s no Grab or Gojek in the Nusa Islands isn’t really the beach club’s fault, and the difficulties of getting to and from Nusa Ceningan are something to be tackled separately.

Rating:

Social Media Presence

There is an Instagram page for this club, and while it’s not the best social media presence that we’ve seen, by a fair distance, it does do a reasonable job of illustrating what the club is like.

That gives you some confidence that when you book to go out to this club, you aren’t wasting the journey.

Overall, we’d like to see beach clubs put a bit more effort into social media; it’s free to use, and it’s not expensive to have an employee take some shots with a smartphone and upload them.

Other/General Comments

We found that this place had a great blend of hotel hospitality and efficiency, and beach club charm.

Our Overall Opinion Of Klyf Club Blue Lagoon

As small hotel beach clubs without beach access go, this is one of the best of its kind. It’s a lovely place to enjoy great views and some decent food and drink by the sea.

It’s just a shame that, given it’s in Nusa Ceningan that it’s a bit far to go for most people, and it’s not worth visiting Ceningan just for this beach club.

FAQs

Can You Swim At Klyf Club Blue Lagoon?

Yes, in fact, Klyf Club Blue Lagoon has a very nice swimming pool area, which is more than large enough to get a few lengths in.

It can get busy at the peak times of day, particularly if the resort guests opt to stay and use the beach club rather than get out and explore the island.

So, get there early if swimming is key, but otherwise, you can jump in this pool to cool off at any time of the day.

It’s worth noting, however, that this club is part of a cliff face and there’s no beach access at Klyf Club Blue Lagoon, so you can’t swim in the sea here. The beach is a long way down.

What Can You Do At Klyf Club Blue Lagoon?

You can enjoy some lovely views out over the ocean, take up residence on a daybed by the pool, swim in the pool and eat and drink from the hotel’s restaurant and bar facilities.

This is very much a place for relaxing for a day, and it’s not remotely geared towards a party crowd, so if you want that kind of vibe, you might be better off looking elsewhere.

Is Klyf Club Blue Lagoon A Family-Friendly Venue?

Yes, the Klyf Club Blue Lagoon and its associated resort are family-friendly venues, though we should note that there are no special facilities for kids within the club.

It’s also important to note that parents are expected to be responsible for the safety of their children at all times, and there are no lifeguards on the pool, and the edges of the cliff are not particularly well secured to prevent youngsters from slipping through the fences.

You’re also expected to ensure that your children don’t annoy other visitors to the Klyf Club Blue Lagoon.

Overall, though, in our experience, the staff will be pleased to see your children and will help keep an eye on them if possible.

Who Owns Klyf Club Blue Lagoon?

Klyf is owned by the Ora Group, which is a hotel group. The ownership of this company is Singaporean, and it owns many other properties as well as health and wellness businesses. They have a particular interest in tele-health provision.

Final Thoughts On Klyf Club Blue Lagoon

We enjoyed our time at Klyf Club Blue Lagoon, the views are really spectacular, and it’s much more laid back than similar venues in Uluwatu and Ungasan, and it’s better value for money.

The only downside is that you can’t really get access to the beach, and it’s a shame, as the sand below looks inviting and appealing.

Overall, we don’t think we’d travel all the way to Nusa Ceningan just for this place, but we would stay in the resort and spend time at this beach club if we were going to spend time on Ceningan Island.
