Ohana’s Beach Club is part of Ohana’s Beachfront Resort on the island of Nusa Lembongan but can a small club on a small island hold a candle to the beach club experience on the mainland?
We went to find out and our team was very excited to do their first review of a beach club that was in the wider part of Bali province.
To ensure that we looked at this venue as the Ohana’s Beachfront Resort Beach Club we didn’t stay in the property and won’t be reviewing the hotel.
Introduction – Getting To Ohana’s Beach Club
To get to Ohana’s Beachfront Resort you will first need to get to Nusa Lembongan which is a short boat journey from Bali.
Once you’re in Lembongan, you will need to get a taxi or scooter to the resort itself.
This can easily be arranged in the harbour when you arrive or if you’re staying at the Ohana’s Beachfront Resort, they can help arrange a pick-up from the ferry terminal for you.
Where Is Ohana’s Beach Club? Nusa Lembongan, Gg. Nusa Indah Jl. Jungutbatu, Jungutbatu, Kec. Nusa Penida, Kabupaten Klungkung, Bali 80228, Indonesia
Website: Ohana’s Beach Club
Opening Hours: Ohana’s Beach Club is billed as being open every day of the year (except for Nyepi) from 6.30 a.m. until “late”. This allows thee Ohana’s Beachfront Resort some leeway over closing times based around demand.
Rules are a bit more flexible on Nusa Lembongan than they are in Bali around these things, but this is a resort first and foremost and you won’t be at any raging 2 a.m. parties here – the people who’ve booked a double or twin room are entitled to their sleep.
What’s Inside Ohana’s Beach Club?
Ohana’s Beach Club has a range of seating, a bar, a restaurant, a children’s playground, a shop, a gelato station and two pools inside where you can enjoy time with friends in the Bali sun.
Our Review Breakdown For Ohana’s Beach Club
Our review process for every beach club in Bali is the same. Our team visits the beach club and then grades the club out of 5 (from 1 – worst to 5 – best) on a series of 20 criteria.
Once they return to the office, they take a vote on each criterion as a team to ensure the final score is representative of the consensus view of our visits.
Then a review is written up based on the scores and feedback. Once it’s published, it stays live for a period of, at least, one year before we revisit the club and amend scores as necessary.
Pre-Club Advertising
We don’t see a lot of advertising for Ohana’s but we suspect that’s because they do advertise the resort and because mainly, we are on the mainland and don’t get a lot of Nusa Lembongan targetted ads on social media.
However, it might be worth the club considering going beyond the website and adverts for their property and specifically marketing the beach club, it can make all the difference in the world when it comes to being busy and ensuring the best experience for guests.
Location
The location is great for sunset watchers who will have an unforgettable experience watching the sun dip below the horizon of the ocean.
However, there’s no doubt that getting to Nusa Lembongan is a long trip (not just the boat ride but also the Grab/Gojek journey to a harbour from most of mainland Bali).
So, you’re going to have to make a very intentional trip to Ohana’s Beachfront Resort Beach Club if you just want to experience some great vibes on Nusa Lembongan.
Not going to Nusa Lembongan? Why not take a look at all the beach clubs in Bali and find somewhere closer?

Booking Process & Seating Options
Ohana’s Beachfront Resort has a decent website but it’s not the most technologically advanced site we’ve used either.
It is possible to book seats at the beach club through the website but really it’s there as a booking engine for Ohana’s Beachfront Resort.
That means you won’t have to pay a deposit for a seat online, but it also means that Ohana’s Beachfront Resort refused to guarantee that you will get the seat that you reserved.
We think they could do better with this, it’s 2024, a decent booking engine isn’t an expensive or complicated thing to install.
Entry Fee
With the exception of the occasional ticketed event (such as New Year or when an artist is playing) entry into Ohana’s Beach Club is free.
We completely support this policy and we think that everyone should be able to visit a beach club and decide if it’s for them before they pay for any service.
We would also note that the venue has plenty of free seating with no minimum spend which means that entry is really free and not being made up elsewhere.
Resort guests do not have to pay for ticketed events, they are free-entry for anyone with a room in the resort.
Minimum Spend
They have bean bags, sun chairs, and seats in both the dining area and lounge that can be accessed without a minimum spend.
Thus, Ohana’s earns itself a place on our best Bali beach clubs with no need for a minimum spend list.
However, if you want to use a sunbed (for 1 person) or a daybed (for 4 people) they will require a minimum spend of 200,000 IDR and 500,000 IDR respectively.
This minimum spend is so low that it would be nearly impossible not to make the amount. However, the minimum spend is refreshed every 3 hours, so if you want to stay all day – you might need to pay this 2,3 or even 4 times over!
If you are staying in Ohana’s Beachfront Resort then you will not have a minimum spend no matter where you sit in the venue.
The club cannot guarantee seating even if you book in advance and they advise you to arrive early if you want a specific seat or risk missing out.
Welcome And Security
We thought the welcome at Ohana’s Beachfront Resort Beach Club was friendly and positive.
There wasn’t a security check though. We like security checks because we think they keep guests safe.
We can understand that a beach club in Nusa Lembongan might not see this as much of a priority as mainland clubs, but we’d still rather see a security check.
Inclusions
If you agree to a minimum spend, towel hire is included with your seat. Otherwise, you will need to hire a towel if you want to take a dip in the pools.
We should note that guests of the resort get a bunch of benefits at the beach club as do people who are part of the Ohana’s loyalty program.
However, there’s no scope for a VIP or premier tier of benefits at Ohana’s and we kind of feel they’re missing an opportunity to improve the guest experience and to boost their revenue.
Service
We thought the service at Ohana’s was very good for Nusa Lembongan an it felt like Balinese hospitality throughout.
It wasn’t truly exceptional service but it was close and we think this is one of the most important aspects of a beach club experience, service like this makes you want to come back again and again.
Entertainment
Ohana’s doesn’t have live DJs every day but it does have entertainment on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday this includes DJs on the first two days and then acoustic musicians on the last.
They also regularly host special events.
On our visit, they were playing piped music and it was just fine though it wasn’t particularly memorable either.
Pool Quality
There are two pools at this venue and they’re both of a decent size. The infinity pool is great with one of the best views of the ocean you’re going to get on Nusa Lembongan.
The water was very clean in the pools and we’d be happy to swim at Ohana’s on any visit.
Menu/Drinks Pricing
We felt that the drinks and food were quite pricey at this beach club, we know that things have to be shipped out to the resort here from the mainland but this is usually offset by lower operating costs on the small island itself.
Food And Drink Quality
Everything we tried at Ohana’s Beach Club was reasonable value for money, we’d, perhaps, have liked slightly bigger portions but overall the food was tasty and well prepared.
We also thought that the cocktails were well-mixed and (perhaps, more importantly) strong enough to justify their high price tags.
Sunset View
This is one of the best spots for watching a sunset in Nusa Lembongan and while the view isn’t quite as epic as it is in Canggu or Seminyak, it’s more than good enough.
You’re not going to be unhappy if you visit Ohana’s as the sun dips below the curve of the Earth.
Music And Ambiance
The music on the day we visited was piped but there are great vibes in this beach club and everyone was having a good time.
They do have live music and live DJs some evenings and regularly host special events too.
Payment Options
You can pay with cash or card anywhere inside this venue but we didn’t see any ads for QRIS payments or e-wallet payments.
Exit Process
Exiting Ohana’s is very easy, just walk back out the way you came in and the staff will wish you farewell.
This isn’t a very big beach club and you won’t get lost looking for the door and there are enough staff around to help you if you do.
Transportation
It’s Nusa Lembongan, getting around the island is never that simple and while the resort staff can help you get a taxi or scooter, it’s probably easiest just to drive yourself and leave your bike (for a fee) in the car park.
Social Media Presence
Ohana’s does have a social media presence but it’s very rarely updated and that’s a shame because this part of Nusa Lembongan is very photogenic and so are many of Ohana’s visitors.
However, the social media accounts that do exist are enough to give you reasonable feel of what to expect in this beach club.
Other/General Comments
We weren’t expecting a beach club on the island of Nusa Lembongan to compete with the big boys, but Ohana’s does a very good job of replicating the kind of beach club experience we love.
Our Overall Opinion Of Ohana’s Beach Club
It’s not perfect but we think Ohana’s punches out of its weight class in a good way. This beach club delivers a very pleasant experience and given that the main business here is a resort, not a beach club, that’s very admirable indeed.
We just wish the prices were a little more reasonable and that they would work on their website and social media a bit.
A Quick Note On the Ohana’s Beachfront Resort
The Ohana’s Beachfront Resort is a great place to stay in Nusa Lembongan according to the people that we spoke to. You can get a double or twin room with free toiletries, hair dryer, Wi-Fi, etc. and excellent room service from very friendly staff.
Staying at the resort also helps you have an unforgettable experience at the beach club as you get free access to all furniture and if there is a special event on that requires tickets, you will find that hotel guests get their entry fee waived too.
We won’t be reviewing the resort as we feel it’s important that we focus on beach club experiences but we believe the great vibes in this beach club carry through to the resort itself.
