Timbis Beach Club as a beachfront oasis boasts one of the most unusual locations on Pandawa Beach in the South of Bali on the Bukit Peninsula.
But is it a place where “sun, surf and breathtaking sunsets converge” as their marketing material suggests?
Well, we sent our team to find out and this is what they learned when they visited Timbis Beach Club.
Introduction – Getting To Timbis Beach Club
Pandawa Beach is one of the more remote spots in Bali and it’s a long drive from the rest of the island to experience the things that this beachfront oasis boasts.
This is partly because it’s on the Southernmost tip of the Bukit Peninsula and partly because of the traffic on the island.
Once you reach the area, there is parking available and you can be dropped off near the entrance by Grab or Gojek.

What’s Inside Timbis Beach Club?
This is an oceanfront and reasonably inviting infinity pool, restaurant and bar facilities as well as various seating options. This isn’t the biggest of venues, so you won’t find it very challenging to see all of its attractions while you’re there.
Our Review Breakdown For Timbis Beach Club
We believe in treating the beach clubs that we review on a fair and equal basis and that means we use the same formula for every review.
This also ensures that our readers can rely on reviews to be in a standard format too.
Our team are sent out to review the club (they do not go together or at the same time), they assess the club on a rating scale of 1 (worst) to 5 (best) against the 20 categories listed below.
Following their visit, they meet to discuss the experience and to vote on a final rating in each category. Once this is done, a team member compiles the review and it’s then published on our site.
After that, we will amend the review after, at least, a year has passed and we revisit and regrade the beach club.
Pre-Club Advertising
We were quite surprised to learn that Timbis Beach Club existed and that’s because they don’t seem to advertise very much, if at all.
They do have a nice website, but we’ve not seen a single social media ad or a billboard covered with their brand.
This seems odd as most people are not gonig to stumble over Pandawa Beach by accident.
Location
This location in South Bali is a nightmare to get to from most of the island and we’d recommend that you stay in the area if you’re going to visit as a return trip could see you lose 4-6 hours out of your day from most of the island.
However, once you reach Timbis Beach Club it’s fair to say the beach itself is attractive and it’s quite busy on weekends.
If you’re lucky there may even be a surfing event on the beach. However, there’s very little within walking distance of Timbis Beach Club and you will need transport to get around the local area.
Booking Process & Seating Options
Given that Timbis Beach Club is a premium offering, we’re baffled as to how this “beachfront oasis” fails to deliver an online booking system.
You can send them a message on WhatsApp and go back and forth with a member of staff to reserve a seat but this feels needlessly complicated.
It’s also likely to deter people from booking in the first place, and you should book, because otherwise you risk not being able to jump into the inviting infinity pool because all the seats are sold out.
There is a very long drive for most people to get to Timbis Beach Club, a decent booking engine should be an essential investment.
Entry Fee
There is no entrance fee at Timbis Beach Club but don’t get too excited because there are no seats without a minimum spend attached to them.
We consider that an “entrance fee by the back door” and while we don’t consider it as egregious as charging people a fee to walk into the place, we don’t think it’s a good practice either.
You should, in our opinion, be able to walk into any beach club in Bali and grab a seat at a bar or restaurant and enjoy the food and drink without being required to pay an admission fee or commit to a certain amount of spending.
Minimum Spend
They’ve gone for a fairly complex pattern of minimum spend criteria at this beach club and it will cost IDR 250,000++ to book a single bed or beanbag on weekdays but this goes up by 100,000++ IDR on weekends.
If you want to enjoy the bar area “Sky Area” as they call it at Timbis Beach Club it’s 200,000++ IDR per person during the week or on weekends.
Then, it’s 600,000++ IDR for a double bed or 800,000++ IDR on weekends.
We actually find these to be reasonable figures and you’re not going to find it hard to consume the minimum spend while you’re at Timbis Beach Club.
Welcome And Security
The welcome was reasonably friendly at Timbis Beach Club and they did carry out a basic bag search.
We’re big fans of security being taken seriously at the beach clubs in Bali and we’d prefer to endure a two-second search than know that we were at a slight risk of something terrible happening inside.
Timbis Beach Club wasn’t quite in the Premier League of beach clubs in this category but it was good enough.
Inclusions
The minimum spend at this club includes whichever seating that you’ve agreed to, the use of the Timbis Beach Club canoes for ocean exploration (however, this is subject to the tides and the availability of canoes, if every guest wants a canoe, they won’t have enough to go round), the use of the Wi-Fi and a towel.
This is about standard for beach clubs in Bali and there are no options to pay a higher minimum spend and get an increased number of perks, which is a bit of a shame.
Service
We thought that the service at Timbis Beach Club was very good and even edging towards the top tier of beach clubs.
The staff are friendly and kind and we found them to be effective at taking orders and then bringing food and drinks without any real delay.
Entertainment
There is some entertainment on random dates at Timbis Beach Club, and you may enjoy bonfires on the beach most evenings.
There are also water sports (you can use the canoes for free) as well as plenty of surfing opportunities (we like to watch other people surf here, the breaks are very good).
Pool Quality
The pool area at Timbis Beach Club is very nice, it’s a long oceanfront infinity pool and there’s plenty of room for swimming unless the club is very crowded.
We found the water to be very clean and the area was neat and well-maintained. It’s perfect for cooling off in the heat of the day.
Menu/Drinks Pricing
Timbis Beach Club has a decent menu but as with many beach clubs in this part of the island, the prices are quite high and you’re going to burn through your minimum spend quite quickly.
We don’t understand why prices here are higher than in the most popular areas in Bali it almost feels like the beach clubs got together and decided that the market would be bear these prices if there was no other option.
Food And Drink Quality
To be fair to Timbis Beach Club the food is very good, it’s not quite the best that we’ve ever had in a beach club but we’d be happy to eat their food on a regular basis and the portions are generous.
We also felt that the drinks were strong enough, well-mixed and presented beautifully they look great in our Instagram photos.
Sunset View
One thing Timbis Beach Club is not is a place where “sun, surf and breathtaking sunsets converge” and that’s because “breathtaking sunsets” aren’t really a thing on this part of the island.
It’s facing in the wrong direction and you get nothing like the incredible light show and actually breathtaking sunsets of Canggu and Seminyak.
You do get some light changes in the sky but other than that, there’s no sun dropping behind the horizon of the sea or anything else.
Music And Ambiance
While we were at Timbis Beach Club the music was piped in and not particularly interesting (though it didn’t detract from our time in the sun either).
We found the vibe to be chilled and more about having fun in the pool and the sea than having a party.
Payment Options
You can pay by card or cash throughout Timbis Beach Club but we didn’t see any options for QRIS or e-wallet payments, which is a bit frustrating given how popular these payment methods are here in Indonesia.
Exit Process
You leave Timbis Beach Club the same way as you came in and as it’s not the biggest of beach clubs, you can’t really get lost.
The staff here will give you a cheerful farewell as you leave and you will be glad that you spent some time here when they do.
Transportation
Your joy may not last that long, however, if you need a ride to get home. Those who drove themselves, can pick their vehicles up in the nearby car park.
But if you want a Grab or Gojoek, you may be waiting outside Timbis Beach Club for a while as there aren’t many drivers in this part of the island, “a while” could be a very long time at peak hours during the day or when Timbis Beach Club closes for the night.
There are no taxi mafia, but that’s not all upside as you might be desperate enough to pay for an overpriced ride depending on the wait time for a ride-share.
Social Media Presence
Timbis Beach Club has a decent social media presence which is updated reasonably regularly. We think they’ve done a good job of showcasing the different things you can do at this beach club.
However, we think there’s too much emphasis on the surf activities and less on the beach club itself.
Other/General Comments
Timbis Beach Club is one of the better beach clubs in this corner of Bali. But we’re not sure it’s good enough to have you excited enough to endure hours in the Bali traffic.
Our Overall Opinion Of Timbis Beach Club
If you’re seeking a beach club in the Timbis area, then Timbis Beach Club is a good place to spend some time and it looks great in photos.
However, we question whether it’s worth travelling all this way particularly when we note the high prices and lack of breathtaking sunsets.
We’d certainly visit this place if were in the area, but we’re based in Canggu and we don’t think it’s worth the very long drive to visit Timbis Beach Club when we’ve got FINNS on the doorstep.

Final Thoughts On Timbis Beach Club
Timbis Beach Club is far from the worst beach club in Bali. But is in one of the worst locations in Bali and that means you’re going to have to think long and hard before deciding to travel out to this spot.
If you’re staying in Ungasan, Nusa Dua or Uluwatu, it might be worth the effort, but if you’re in the other beach towns, you can get the thrill of a beach club closer to your doorstep and find a better beach club too.
