12 Best Beach Clubs Kuta, Legian & Jimbaran

There are three places in Bali with a lot of beach clubs, Canggu, Seminyak and Uluwatu and we’ve crafted each of them a “best beach clubs” ranking. However, the areas of Kuta, Legian and Jimbaran are all next door to each other and their combined beach clubs deserve a league table too.

So, given that it’s not far from one town to the next, we’ve wrapped them up together and now, we present our top 12 beach clubs in Kuta, Legian and Jimbaran.

Our Top 12 Beach Clubs In Kuta, Legian & Jimbaran

Ku De Ta

Ku De Ta is where Bali’s beach club scene began and while it’s not quite the best beach club in Bali anymore, it’s still very good.

If you want to enjoy a day by the waves while listening to loud music, it’s a great venue to ensure that you have a solid day out.

For those who prefer to keep their eardrums intact then we’d advise heading to the rooftop floor where you can get an amazing view of the ocean and without the music overpowering your conversation.

Sundara Beach Club

The Four Seasons in Jimbaran is one of the island’s best hotels and it regularly wins plaudits from around the world for the quality of stay that it provides.

The Sundara Beach Club belongs to the Four Seasons and there’s no entrance fee or minimum spend requirement, even if you’re not staying in the hotel.

However, the menu items are quite expensive compared to most beach clubs, after all, this is the Four Seasons.

Sunset Beach Bar

This beach club at the Intercontinental Hotel in Jimbaran is less of a beach club and more “highly refined beachfront dining experience” but that’s OK, as long as you know that before you travel.

We found the service here to be first-rate and the food is excellent. But as you might expect from a premium 5-star hotel brand, it’s not the cheapest place in Bali to eat.

Overall, we’d recommend it for a special occasion rather than for an everyday treat.

Azure Beach Restaurant

If you’re on your way to the airport from Jimbaran, this club is ideally situated and the majority of their guests seem to be killing time before a flight.

They have good luggage storage facilities to ensure that you don’t have to drag your luggage to the poolside, mind you.

The minimum spend is reasonable and it’s a decent beachfront spot. We would urge you to book in advance though as they sometimes get big coach parties arrive and then, you can’t get a seat.

Locca Sea House

This family-friendly beach club has a pleasantly private area for children to enjoy playing together and swimming with some mermaids.

The focus here is very much on chilling out for the day by the pool and it’s definitely not a spot for partying and heavy drinking.

If you’re in the mood for an extended chat, there are worse places for it than Locca Sea House.

However, the sunset view from here is very limited and we advise against booking event tickets at Locca as they often require a very early arrival time with no pass outs issued prior to the headliner taking the stage.

Pavilion Surf Club

It may not be a full on beach club, but we’re always happy to find ourselves pulling up a chair at the Pavilion Surf Club. It has a great beach view from the upper deck.

Their food and drinks are incredibly reasonably priced and the vibe is very much for the slightly older visitor when compared to the youthful party spots on the island.

We’ve also found the club is very amenable to helping a special occasion go with a bang if you call them and let them know what the celebration is in advance.

Azul Beach Club

This spot in Legian is a very attractive beach club made from traditional bamboo and it’s somewhat evocative of FINNS.

Azul is home to the very first Tiki Bar in Bali and they mix a mean cocktail that you can enjoy while lounging around on your daybed.

However, there’s no doubt that the pool area tends to be quite quiet when compared to the interior area around the mid-level bar.

Jimbaran Beach Club

Jimbaran Beach Club

We felt that the Jimbaran Beach Club was more of a traditional beach restaurant than a fully-fledged beach club.

However, if you’re in the mood for a seaside BBQ, then Jimbaran is the place to go and Jimbaran Beach Club will be happy to cater to your needs.

We’d also note that the beer prices were very reasonable and every beer is served ice cold, as it should be.

Kubu Beach Club

Kubu Beach Club @ AYANA

Kubu is an addition to the very exclusive and swanky beachfront resort, AYANA. If you want to get access to Kubu, it’s best to go through the resort (though you can access the beach Kubu sits on without going through the resort, it’s a bit of a pain getting there).

However, they do offer preferential seating to resort guests and while this is a very pleasant and secluded spot on the bay, it’s very expensive.

Ocean @ Discovery

Well, not so much a beach club as a restaurant in a mall, but there is a pool area and outdoor seating with a nice view of the beach.

It’s not the worst place to hole up with a drink and enjoy a spectacular view of the sunset.

However, we found their cocktails were much weaker than normal and they weren’t good value for money in the food department, either.

Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove

Yes, this is also at the Four Seasons in Jimbaran and it’s not as beach club like as the other inclusion from this hotel on the list.

However, it’s a very nice spot and also open to guests who aren’t staying in the hotel. Just be prepared to spend, this is not a cheap place to eat and drink.

Our Top Pick For A Beach Club If You’re Staying In Kuta, Legian Or Jimbaran

The thing is, if you’re going to take a taxi to a beach club in Kuta, Legian or Jimbaran, you won’t have to travel much further and you could be in the island’s best beach club and if you haven’t been to FINNS, that’s what we’d recommend that you do.

You’ll get the best bang for your buck at FINNS and have the most memorable day of your life too.

FINNS Beach Club (and FINNS VIP Beach Club)

FINNS is the world’s best beach club and that’s not just in its marketing, both the club’s customers and international media (including this website) agree that FINNS leads where other beach clubs follow.

With a range of pools, a huge number of bars and restaurants and endless all day (and night) long entertainment, you just can’t go wrong at FINNS.

It has a spectacular view over the ocean at sunset and the FINNS VIP offering adds another layer of luxury to an already spectacular day out.

They say 1 in 4 international visitors to Bali chooses FINNS as their top destination on the island. We can see why.

FAQS

Which Beach Club Is Best For Partying In Bali?

FINNS Beach Club’s purpose is to create the world’s best beach party experience, every single day and we think they succeed admirably.

Nowhere else on the island can come close to matching their entertainment, high-end venue and non-stop DJs and vocalists.

Spend an evening in their famous party restaurant, Monsoon and soon you’ll realize that nobody parties quite like FINNS Beach Club parties.

Are Beach Clubs In Bali Worth It?

Yes, we think beach clubs in Bali are worth it. If we didn’t we probably wouldn’t have put together this website.

We find that a full day out at a beach club here compares favourably (cost-wise) with a night out in any major city in the West and you get a lot more bang for buck in Bali.

So, you can eat, drink and be merry for a relatively small amount of money and create memories that will last a lifetime. That’s superb value for money.

Is Jimbaran Bali Worth Visiting?

Yes, Jimbaran in Bali is very much worth visiting. The area is famous for its seafood BBQ restaurants and it’s very close to Uluwatu, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and Canggu if you want to explore other parts of Balinese life.

The area is home to some excellent restaurants and hotels, including the legendary Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay.

There is also a reasonable amount to see and do in the area, though it doesn’t have quite as much to offer as Canggu or Kuta.

Is Jimbaran Beach Good For Swimming?

The Northern End of Jimbaran Beach is especially good for swimming, but it’s reasonably safe to swim the entire length of this beach.

That’s because the North has a reef protecting the area, that leads to smaller waves and calmer waters. Even relatively inexperienced swimmers will find themselves feeling safe at this part of the beach.

This beach is also reasonably clean and well-maintained thanks to the local community and resort’s efforts. So, it’s a pleasant place for swimming too.

Is It Worth Staying In Legian?

Yes, it’s worth staying in Legian. If you’re looking for relatively inexpensive accommodation in Bali, then Kuta and Legian offer great value for money at this moment in time.

You’re also a short drive from Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Jimbaran and Uluwatu, so if you find that you’re a little bored in Legian, you can easily find something else to do.

We find that Legian tends to be popular with families seeking a quieter place to rest than Kuta with good access to mid-range restaurants.

What Is The Number One Beach Club In Bali?

The number one beach club in Bali at this moment is FINNS Beach Club in Canggu. It has the most visitors of any beach club on the island.

Many people have asked if you’ve been to Bali and not been to FINNS, have you really been to Bali at all? And while this may be pushing it, there’s no doubt that FINNS has become one of the biggest attractions on the island.

Some people plan their holidays in Bali, just so that they can visit this legendary beach club and the club sees an amazing number of repeat visitors given that this is a holiday destination.

Does Kuta, Bali Have Good Nightlife?

Kuta was once the centre of the Bali nightlife scene but Canggu and Seminyak are both more popular nowadays.

Seminyak tends to draw in the big spending set of people who like to see and be seen and don’t mind paying for the privilege and Canggu tends to attract a broader crowd in search of good times.

However, there is still some nightlife in Kuta and much of it focuses on live music, so if you’re in need of a live band – it might be the area to check out.

Final Thoughts On The Best Beach Clubs In Kuta, Legian & Jimbaran

Kuta, Legian and Jimbaran may not have the wealth of beach clubs that places like Canggu, Seminyak and Uluwatu have but between them, you’ll still be spoiled for choice.

In our view, Ku De Ta is the best beach club in the area, but we’d encourage you to take a longer drive out to FINNS before deciding on a beach club closer to your hotel. It’s the world’s best beach club.
