Our 10 Best Beach Clubs, Seminyak
A Special Mention: FINNS Beach Club, The World’s Best Beach Club
We feel it’s important to point out that Canggu is not far from Seminyak Beach and you might want to take a short taxi ride to visit FINNS Beach Club rather than visit any of the beach clubs on the list below.
FINNS is the only property we’ve visited that gets a perfect review score from us and we strongly feel that if you only visit one club during your time on the island, you ought to make it FINNS.
We love FINNS because it’s a place that makes you want to stay rather than trying to extract as much money out of you as possible.
It’s impossible to be bored at FINNS and the entertainment, food, drinks and service are best in class.
Potato Head Beach Club
Potato Head currently sits at number two on our list of the best clubs in Bali and for good reason, it’s much more than a beach bar.
With a solid swimming pool area, plenty of seating choices, good food and cold drinks, if you want to chill out by the Indian Ocean, Potato Head is a good choice.
It’s part of a larger creative village too with its own resort and sustainability workshops and programs. The hotel was ranked in the top 50 in the world this year and last year.
They have occasional big events like music festivals but normally, you can either book a day bed online or turn up to use their no-entrance-fee and no minimum-spend seating as a walk-in guest.
It’s not the best place for partying, but otherwise, this is one of Bali’s better clubs and we think you’ll have a good time there.

Ku De Ta
Ku De Ta was the first beach club on the island and it’s still delivering a sold experience to its guests.
The food and drink quality is good and it’s not too expensive, something that other clubs could learn from.
The minimum spend requirements at Ku De Ta double on weekends, so if you want to visit this club, you might want to go on a weekday.
There are seats available that don’t require a minimum spend (though they don’t get a towel for the swimming pool) and Ku De Ta doesn’t charge an entry fee, so you can go in and check it out before committing to anything.
Our biggest complaint about Ku De Ta is that it’s just not that memorable, given their years of experience, we feel they could do better.

Alila Beach Bar
This hotel-based club is something of a hidden gem and doesn’t tend to make it to many “best beach clubs” lists, even though it should.
There’s a decent infinity pool on offer and the water is very clean (though we are a bit irked that there are four other pools in the resort that you can’t access from the club).
We did find the food was pretty expensive for what it was but the drinks were strong enough and that’s important.
One thing that stood out about this spot was that sunset cocktails were serenaded by a live band, rather than a DJ or canned music and we liked that a lot – many of the clubs seem to be working hard at making the soundscape as bland as possible.
Overall, we felt that if you were staying at this hotel, you’d be very happy with this club and outside visitors are likely to enjoy it too.

Suka Sunset Beach Club
This spot on Seminyak Beach is very pleasant, indeed, but there’s just one downside to this club, there aren’t very many people using it.
It’s probably because Suka Sunset is something of a newcomer to the area and word hasn’t gone around, yet, but until it does – this is the quietest place around.
Booking isn’t very straightforward, but once you do arrange a seat, the minimum spend is very reasonable and the food and drink are excellent.
It has a lovely sunset view and the pool is great with plenty of room for swimming. The music was alright but it didn’t make up for the lack of atmosphere due to the lack of guests though.

Cocoon Beach Club
Cocoon isn’t on the beach which is a bit irritating for a place that bills itself as a beach club. However, it’s a very pleasant place with a nice pool along with bar and restaurant areas.
It’s not the best spot for sunset cocktails as there’s no view of the ocean or the beach here, but otherwise, Cocoon is a decent place to spend a day in Seminyak.
However, we wouldn’t make Cocoon our only club experience in Bali, there are much better clubs to enjoy if you want the full beach club experience.

Mano Beach House
Mano Beach House is a decent spot for sunset cocktails but it’s a very small club so don’t expect to spend very long deciding where to sit when you arrive.
We didn’t like that they didn’t mention their minimum spend limits during the booking process, there’s really no excuse for this. The minimum spend is very reasonable but it shouldn’t be a surprise that they spring on you, either.
What we liked less was how expensive the food and drinks were and while the food was excellent, the drinks were understrength and that’s not good enough at these prices.
It does have a nice sunset view though and the pool is clean and pleasant if a touch small.

Sugarsand
Sugarsand is an excellent Japanese restaurant that doubles as a sort of beach club. It excels in lunch and dinner menus (as long as you like Japanese food).
However, as a beach club, it’s a bit underwhelming. There is a pool buy you will need to agree to a minimum spend to use it and to get a towel.
There is no entertainment of any kind and the sunset cocktails view is very limited, indeed, with much of the venue having no sight of the ocean or the beach.
We’d go to eat, but not to spend a whole day at this club.

Infinity Beach Club
This hotel beach club has the potential to be amazing but isn’t quite living up to that potential right now. We loved their oceanfront infinity pool which has incredible views over the beach and the Indian Ocean.
We also enjoyed the food and drinks but were less impressed with their attention to small details.
We enjoyed our time at Infinity and would be happy to go back, but we wouldn’t prioritize it as one of our must-visit places, either.

Woobar
The Woobar is the Marriott Hotel Group’s attempt at a beach club and it’s part of the very upmarket W Bali Hotel.
Our main gripes with this place are that it’s rarely full and that it’s incredibly overpriced, with the most expensive food and drink we’ve encountered at any beach club.
The nice pool set up and DJs can make up for this a little, but overall, we wish the Woobar was cheaper because at the moment, it’s just too expensive for us to recommend it enthusiastically.

La Plancha
La Plancha is related to the La Brisa Beach Club and it often gets lumped in the beach club category but the reality is that this is more of a beach bar and restaurant than a club.
There’s nothing wrong with that, mind you. However, it does mean there’s no pool and no entertainment which is going to limit the venue’s appeal.
One thing we don’t understand is why they make it so hard to book their bean bags (which attract a minimum spend).
Otherwise, it’s a nice place for lunch or dinner or sunset cocktails but it’s not a place to invest a whole day in.

Pool Bar @ The Legian?
We went to visit this beach club and found that you can only get access if you are a guest of this 5-star hotel. We only review beach clubs that offer access to any guest without the condition of renting an expensive hotel room, first.
Given that places like the Woobar and Vue, both of which are attached to high-end 5-star properties, allow walk-ins and reservations at their clubs. We have decided to leave the Pool Bar at The Legian out of our rankings unless something changes.
Other Beach Clubs Not Mentioned In This Review
We should note that several clubs aren’t mentioned in this review like Cafe Del Mar, for example, because they’re not in Seminyak (despite other articles including them), they’re in Canggu and we have a “best beach clubs in Canggu” list, already. So, if it’s on Echo Beach, Berawa Beach or Batu Bolong Beach, it doesn’t really belong here.
We also haven’t included the infamous Mrs Sippy on this list because it’s a pool club, not a beach club and this list is for beach clubs. We will be adding reviews of the pool clubs on the island and Mrs Sippy will be included on any lists related to pool clubs.
FAQs
Are Beach Clubs In Bali Worth It?
Yes, we think so, that’s why we run a “best beach clubs in Bali” website. Of course, whether you think they’re worth it will depend on what you want from a day out.
The best clubs offer great food, cold drinks, more than one swimming pool, and plenty of entertainment to keep you interested all day long. For this, they do charge a premium compared to your local warung and we find that most of the clubs offer value for money considering the differences.
However, if you’re really watching your pennies and just want to spend a few hours by the beach without spending very much, beach bars and warungs are going to be better positioned for you.
Does Seminyak Have Good Nightlife?
Yes, though Seminyak’s nightlife is very much aimed at the younger crowd with a bit of money about them. The nightlife in Seminyak tends to be premium-priced and upscale.
If you’re looking for better value for money, you will find that Canggu and Kuta may be better options for your night out.
What Is The Difference Between FINNS Beach Club And FINNS Beach Party?
FINNS Beach Party is a subsection of FINNS Beach Club where the environment is particularly suited for partying.
FINNS is transitioning into an even more party-oriented venue over the coming months and this is likely to be the last low season in which children are admitted to any part of the club.
Is The Nightlife Better In Canggu Or Seminyak?
We like the nightlife in Canggu more than Seminyak because it provides better value for money and offers access to cutting-edge destinations.
However, we’d freely admit there’s not a lot in it overall and that you can have a great time in Seminyak too, though you may spend a bit more on your good time there.
What Is The Number One Beach Club In Bali?
In our experience, FINNS is the number one beach club in Bali and it’s regularly billed as the world’s best beach club.
We’ve found that FINNS lives up to its reputation and we always recommend that if you can only visit one club here in Bali, you make it FINNS. Nowhere else comes close to the kind of entertainment you get from a few hours at FINNS.
What Is The Number One Beach In Bali?
The beach in Nusa Dua is generally considered to be the nicest beach in Bali. This is an area of international name-brand resorts catering mainly to families on holiday.
So, while it is the best beach, it’s not the best beach for beach clubs. The best beach for clubs is Berawa Beach in Canggu.
How Much Does Potato Head Beach Club Cost?
You can get free entrance to Potato Head and then only pay for what you consume in food and drinks.
If you want to use “the furniture” an industry term for bean bags, sofas, day beds, etc. then you will need to agree to a minimum spend of, at least, 500,000 IDR for two people (and potentially more depending on the time of day, the season and where you want to sit).
This is quite standard and Potato Head has a minimum spend roughly in line with other clubs of its status.
We like that they have no entrance fee as we feel you should be able to enter any club to have a look and try the great food and drink, without having to commit to anything more.
What Is The Minimum Spend At Ku De Ta Beach Club?
Ku De Ta, Seminyak has a minimum spend requirement starting at 500,000 IDR but potentially increasing depending on what kind of day bed you want, when you want to go, etc.
Final Thoughts On The 10 Best Beach Clubs, Seminyak
There are plenty of great beach clubs in Seminyak, though we still recommend a drive to Canggu for FINNS if you’re only having one club day out during your holiday in Bali.
However, if you’re a beach clubs fan, you won’t be bored in Seminyak and it’s a great area to chill by the beach.
