Bali Beach Club Roundup: The 10 Best Sunset Spots

If there’s one thing we all love about Bali, it’s the amazing sunsets over the Indian Ocean. They are unparalleled anywhere else on Earth.

But where can you find a beach club that gives you that incredible view of the sun dropping down behind the waves at the end of the day?

Well, surprisingly, there are quite a few beach clubs that are on the wrong side of the island for sunset – but we’ve tracked down 10 beach clubs in Bali with amazing sunset views for you to enjoy.

Our 10 Top Beach Club Sunset Spots In Bali

Note: Given that there are often several beach clubs in the same area, all sharing essentially the same view, we’ve included only the best rated beach club in each area in this list. That means you get more options of areas to visit than you would, otherwise.

FINNS Beach Club (and FINNS VIP Beach Club), Canggu

FINNS sits atop Berawa Beach in Canggu and it has a glorious sunset view from everywhere inside the beach club.

We think the best place in Bali to watch the sun go down is from their beachfront infinity pool with a cold cocktail in hand.

The sunlight reflects in the wet sand of the beach and it’s quite a mesmerizing sight as the sun dips below the horizon.

FINNS is also our top-rated beach club in Bali, so you can enjoy the best day out and the best sunset at the same time.

Potato Head Beach Club, Seminyak

Potato Head is our second best beach club in Bali and it has a very different vibe from FINNS, it’s all about chilling out by the sea rather than partying.

It’s a great place to take your hangover and nurse it gently for a day, or to feast on some plant-based menu items (Potato Head is very eco-friendly).

It also has a very good sunset view and their infinity pool is big and welcoming. You’re bound to have a great time.

Sundara Beach Club, Jimbaran

Sundara Beach Cllub

Jimbaran is further down the coast from Canggu and Seminyak and shares a very similar sunset and it’s also home to one of the best hotels on the island, The Four Seasons.

If you don’t mind paying a very large premium for your food and drinks, The Four Seasons’ Sundara Beach Club is open to day visitors, you don’t have to stay in the hotel to visit.

We liked it very much, it’s a sophisticated and elegant experience that is particularly family friendly.

Warung Pantai, Seseh

If you want a sunset view on a tight budget then Warung Pantai might well be the right choice for your evening out.

It’s not a full blown beach club and it’s a bit of a way down the coast from the main beach towns, but it is very comfy and right on the beach.

It’s also super cheap and you can enjoy Bintangs and local food without breaking the bank all evening long. This is the kind of beach bar that’s becoming pretty rare in Bali, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Ohana’s Beach Club, Nusa Lembongan

Ohana’s is probably the biggest beach club in the Nusa Islands and it’s a great reason to spend a day or two in Nusa Lembongan.

If you want a family friendly vibe and some wonderful sea views, you can’t really go wrong at Ohana’s.

They’ve added a bunch of stuff to this club in the last few months and we’re keen to revisit it later this year and see what’s changed.

Yeh Gangga Beach Club by Uname, Tabanan

If you’re in the mood for an out of the way spot that not too many people in Bali will ever visit, you might want to check out Yeh Gangga Beach Club.

We love the old-world style of the place and while it’s certainly not built to compete with the FINNS and Potatoheads of this world, it’s got its own unique ambience.

The only downside is that it’s not all that easy to get to from most of the beach towns and you might want to spend a night in this area to ensure you can relax and really enjoy the sunset.

Single Fin, Uluwatu

This cliffside club has a wonderful view of the sunset, but the downside is that everyone in the neighbourhood knows it and you will find that it gets super crowded at that time of day.

We’d recommend that you get there early and spend a couple of hours to ensure you get a seat before everyone else turns up.

The food and drinks are pretty good though, it’s just a shame they don’t limit the number of people that they let in.

Suku Beach Club, Nusa Ceningan

This little beach club on the island of Nusa Ceningan is a bit of a pain to get to as it’s quite far from the famous Yellow Bridge.

However, it’s definitely worth putting in the effort to get out there – it’s a gorgeous place with an amazing design.

The pool area is incredible given how remote it is and the sunsets are completely glorious.

Sea Breeze Bangsal Beach Club, Kedonganan

Sea Breeze Bangsal Beach Club is one of the more basic beach club offerings in Bali but that’s OK, it’s still a great spot to soak in the sunset.

It’s a music-free zone, which can make for a nice change when you want to go and enjoy the company of your friends without being drowned out by speaker noise.

Our only minor complaint is that it’s a bit expensive for what it is, it’s not expensive compared to most beach clubs, but then, it’s not really a beach club, either.

Pavilion Surf Club, Legian

Pavilion isn’t really a beach club either but then, it doesn’t pretend to be, either. What we love about this place is the view from the balcony that looks out directly over the beach.

If you’re in the mood for a few beers and some comfort food that reminds you of home, you’re going to find that you really like Pavilion.

It’s also very inexpensive and they have regular promotions to ensure you get real bang for buck as you drink in the sunset.

FAQs

Which Beach Is Best For Sunset In Bali?

We’re big fans of the sunset view from Canggu and, in particular, Berawa Beach. Now, that may be because we spend a lot of time at FINNS but it really is quite a spectacular place to view the light show from.

Other cool places include Batu Bolong and Echo Beach (also in Canggu), Crystal Bay in Nusa Penida, Seminyak Beach, Jimbaran Bay, Uluwatu, Kuta Beach, Legian Beach, Amed and there are many more to be discovered too.

What Is The Number One Beach Club In Bali?

The number one beach club in Bali is FINNS, the world’s best beach club. It’s the best blend of value for money and incredible facilities that you can find on the island.

What really sets FINNS apart from other beach clubs is the entertainment which is always evolving and always interesting. You can’t be bored at FINNS, it’s just not possible.

Where Can I Watch The Sunset In Bali?

You can watch the sunset from anywhere in Bali that has a view of the sunset. Which in practice means you want to be on the Southeast Coast or East Coast or on the Nusa Islands.

There are a few other sunset spots on the island but none of them quite as good. You don’t need to go to a beach club to enjoy the sunset, either, you’re free to stand on the beach and soak up the atmosphere.

Which Side Of Bali Has Sunset?

The Southeast and East sides of Bali have the best sunset views, in the main. In addition, if you visit the Nusa Islands offshore from Bali you can also enjoy some great sunset views.

What Is Golden Hour In Bali?

Golden hour is the hour around sunrise and again around sunset when the light is extremely flattering for photography.

The sunset golden hour is around 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. local time and the sunrise around 6 a.m. – 7 a.m. These times do vary slightly depending on the time of year and you can easily Google for exact sunset and sunrise times when you’re in Bali.

Is Kuta Beach Good For Sunset?

Yes, in fact, we think there could be a good argument that the best time of day to see Kuta Beach is at sunset.

The light reflects on the wet sands and adds a host of spectacular colour to what is already one of the more attractive beaches in Bali.

Final Thoughts On Sunsets, Beach Clubs and Bali

As you can see, many of Bali’s beach clubs are amazing places to enjoy the sunset. You just need to make sure that you’re in the right place on the island and that the view is not obscured by anything inside the club.

Then, you can grab a cold cocktail and enjoy the world’s best aerial light show, it’s a true taste of paradise.
