We make no bones about our love for FINNS Beach Club, the world’s beach club, here at Best Beach Clubs in Bali, but where do you go when you want a change of scenery?
Well, we’ve come up a with a list of 10 hidden gem beach clubs that will make you want to get off the beaten path and explore the beaches of Bali a little more.
What Makes A Beach Club A “Hidden Gem”?
For our definition of a “hidden gem”, we chose beach clubs that are not, generally, considered to be major presences on the island.
Thus clubs like FINNS, Potato Head, Atlas, etc. weren’t eligible for this list. But we also wanted to ensure that we picked places with their own individual identity rather than just a list of hotel beach clubs.
We felt that our top 10 hidden gems were places that we’d be very happy to visit if we were in the area and there are a couple on this list that are actually worth travelling for too.

Suka Sunset Beach Club
When we visited Suka Sunset, we weren’t sure what to expect. New beach clubs often go through serious teething stages and that pain gets passed on to the customer.
However, despite being new and relatively quiet, we really enjoyed our time at this place, it has a great view over the ocean and their food and drinks are excellent.
We expect this place to get better and busier over time too, and we can’t wait to go back and see what’s changed in a year or so.

Warung Pantai
OK, it’s not really a beach club but if you’re on a tight budget this little beach bar is definitely the next best thing.
The good news is that there’s no entrance fee and no minimum spend of any kind. As it’s a local warung, the food and drinks prices are much lower than in most beach clubs too.
Of course, the flip side is that there are no real facilities or entertainment, but if you want to watch the sunset with a cold beer in hand and don’t have a lot of cash, this is the place to go.

Ohana’s
Ohana’s is an offshore beach club on the island of Nusa Lembongan, which means you’re going to need to stay out on the island to spend a day at a beach club (there are day tours, but they have very tight and hectic schedules).
It is a little on the expensive side for the neighbourhood but our team were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the offerings at this place.
There’s no doubt that getting offshore means that you are in for a real change of vibe from the mainland too.

Le Pirate Beach Club
This attractive beach club on Nusa Ceningan is also on another island and will require a stay in the Nusa Islands.
However, with a no-children pool, it has a distinctly adults-only feel and there is no entrance fee or minimum spend to agree to.
The only downside is that Le Pirate is popular and not that big, so if you want to spend a day chilling on a daybed by the pool, you will need to get there early.

Bondalem Beach Club
If you’re in Tejakula, and frankly most people aren’t as it’s a little out of the way, then you’re not going to have many choices of beach club.
Bondalem is a very pleasant affair though with a nice view over the ocean and a decent pool in the centre of the beach club area.
It’s good value for money too and like some of the other clubs on this list, there’s no minimum spend or entrance fee to contend with. Just pay for what you consume.

Magus Warung
While we wouldn’t travel a huge distance to visit Magus Warung, we think this little place in Ungasan is amazing for what it offers at this price point.
It’s surrounded by big name beach clubs that seem to think that premium prices are mandatory but they clearly aren’t because Magus Warung exists.
It’s charming, very local and has some excellent Balinese staff who really deliver wonderful levels of hospitality.

Timbis Beach Club
Timbis is in an area that doesn’t see a huge volume of tourists and that means it’s a fairly small club. The big draw of the area is that it’s on a near pristine beach.
The pool area is very attractive and chilling on a day bed here is a very pleasant way to spend a day by the ocean.
However, we should warn you that the showers and restrooms aren’t great and we’d like to see Timbis invest in giving these parts of the club a major makeover.

Flamingo Beach Club
If you want a family-friendly beach club then look no further than Flamingo which has built its reputation around being child-friendly.
There are no wild parties and international DJs at this beach club, everything is about having fun in the pool, enjoying floating bean bags and games on the beach.
The only major feature missing, for us, is a swim-up bar which is a shame because Flamingo does a lot of things very well, indeed.

Canna Bali
This is a charming beach club in Nusa Dua which means you have access to some of the softest white sands that you can encounter in Bali.
However, if you want to swim in the ocean here, you need to get to Canna Bali in the morning as the tides go out a long way in the afternoon.
It’s also a day club, which means that they turf you out just after sunset, so if you want somewhere to enjoy the evening, you will need to move venues.

Suku Beach Club
Our final entry on our list is another offshore beach club on the island of Nusa Ceningan and it’s a very charming place within a long adventurous scooter drive from the Yellow Bridge that connects the island to Nusa Lembongan.
We thought the pool area was really good considering how remote this place is and their food was a genuine highlight of our trip to the Nusa Islands.
There is a minimum spend requirement but at 250,000 IDR (that’s about $16 USD or $25 AUD) for 3 hours, we can’t imagine not getting through that on drinks and food.

FAQs
What’s The Best Beach Club In Bali?
FINNS Beach Club, by far, is the best beach club on the island according to our review team. They’ve visited all the beach clubs here in Bali and FINNS is the only club to receive a perfect score.
FINNS is often called the “world’s best beach club” and their guests (1 in 8 people who visit Bali, will visit FINNS), the international and local press and their publicly available statistics all back this position up.
That’s not to say that there aren’t any other beach clubs worth visiting here, there are, but it is to say that FINNS ought to be the number one priority before you visit any others.

Are Beach Clubs Worth It?
We love beach clubs, but then we built a site dedicated to Bali’s beach clubs, so that was a given, right?
But yes, we think beach clubs are worth it. They’re not something that most people do every day (though a couple of our review team do spend nearly every day in the beach clubs here) but they’re a holiday treat.
Who doesn’t enjoy having waiters and waitresses bring them tasty food and cold drinks by the pool? Who doesn’t feel that they deserve a little pampering every now and again?
When we talk to other beach club guests, we always find that people are very glad to have tried the experience and that it feels special to them.
We’d also note that the beach club industry employs tens of thousands of local people and supporting the economy of Bali is always a worthwhile effort.
How Many Beach Clubs Are There In Bali?
We’re still not 100% sure. At our latest count, there are 114 beach clubs and we’ve visited all of them (though there are still some reviews to go up) but this is subject to change as new clubs open all the time and sadly, clubs also occasionally go out of business.
So, “over 100” is certainly true as is “less than 200” but we can’t be completely precise because tomorrow the number will probably change.
Final Thoughts On Hidden Gem Beach Clubs In Bali
While we’d always encourage people to visit FINNS Beach Club if they can only fit one beach club into their Bali holiday – there are plenty of smaller clubs that are worth your time too.
These 10 hidden gems are the ideal way to chill out for the day and explore parts of Bali that you might otherwise not see on your holiday.
