10 Best Beach Clubs, Canggu, Bali: Every Club In Canggu Ranked

Canggu is home to the world’s best beach club and the world’s biggest beach club and it’s one of the best destinations for beach clubs on the island. In fact, Canggu is the most visited neighbourhood on the island and the beach clubs play a huge part in that.

But before you commit to a minimum spend you’ll want to know which beachfront venue is the best use of your time and money. After all not every beach club in Canggu is created equally.

Our round-up puts every club in Canggu in ranked order for you from the first to the last.

The 10 Best Beach Clubs In Canggu Our Rankings

1. FINNS Beach Club

FINNS has become our benchmark of what beach clubs should aspire to be. We’ve been to over 100 beach clubs (though our reviews are lagging behind our visits as we go to press) and it’s simply in a league of its own.

The best thing about FINNS is not the swim-up bar or the infinity pool or the party restaurants or the incredible entertainment, it’s the feeling that they value you as a guest.

You may need a minimum spend to secure a day bed but there’s no entrance fee and plenty of free seating for you to be able to get a feel for the place and once you’re inside, you just won’t want to leave.

The club constantly reinvents itself, so repeat visits are never stale and you always find yourself wondering what they’re going to do next to keep your attention.

We also love their attention to detail in everything they do, from the pre-club advertising to their social media presence, this is a club that clearly cares about delivering on its promise as the “best beach club in the world” and in our opinion, it’s a title that they merit.

2. La Brisa

La Brisa is a club with a lot of nice touches such as reclaimed wooden deck chairs and a sustainable ethos that runs throughout the venue.

The location on Echo Beach is solid and you can access the actual beach from this club, which isn’t always true in Bali’s club scene.

There’s no entrance fee and if you want to access the better seating, the minimum spend is fairly reasonable too.

The vibe inside La Brisa is definitely relaxed and welcoming and they have multiple pools for you to enjoy during the day.

Their Sunday Market is a nice touch if you want to pick up some souvenirs and local produce and fashion.

However, there’s not much in the way of entertainment at La Brisa and the taxi mafia outside can be really annoying when you’re leaving.

3. COMO

COMO isn’t a huge club, it’s really a hotel trying to offer guests a little taste of the Bali beach club experience and by and large they do it well.

There’s a single large pool and plenty of sun loungers available to the guests at COMO and the minimum spend is reasonable. However, if you opt for free-entry you’re banned from the pool club side of things which seems a bit mean.

We really enjoyed the food and drinks at this club and they were surprisingly reasonably priced when you consider this is a 5-star hotel.

It’s a very family-friendly place and, in fact, our only real criticism is that there are often a lot of children running around and doing the things kids do at the top of their lungs.

It isn’t really a beach club and it doesn’t offer the full club experience but if you just want to chill on some day beds looking at the palm trees on the beach, you can do much worse than COMO.

4. Cafe Del Mar

Café Del Mar has a big name to live up to as it’s representing the world faous Ibizan club of the same name.

Sadly, we felt that the Bali version still has a long way to go before it matches the standards that are set in the Balearics.

We can’t work out why they didn’t have the river, in front of the day beds and cutting the club off from the beach, diverted as part of their construction process as a few hours on a sun lounger in front of a beach makes you want to put your toes in the sand and you can’t at Cafe Del Mar.

It has a pleasant laid back vibe but the music doesn’t really distinguish itself and that’s quite disappointing for this brand.

There are multiple swim up bars which is nice, but overall, we felt that this club needs to put in more effort to earn your minimum spend.

5. Atlas Beach Club

Atlas Beach Fest is the overarching brand that includes Atlas Beach Club and Atlas Super Club. The beach club is supposedly the biggest in the world and the super club is the biggest night club on the island.

We love the ambition of Atlas Beach Fest but our experiences didn’t match the scale of that ambition.

It starts with pre-club advertising that hasn’t been spell-checked or grammar-checked and is riddled with errors.

It continues with a confusing and expensive entrance procedure (Atlas is one of the very few clubs with an entrance fee).

Then, it’s hit-and-miss service, a place that’s much emptier than it should be for a party venue right through to a confusing exit process.

It’s not that Atlas isn’t impressive, it’s just that it currently makes a very different impression when compared to the one it intends to make.

6. Mari Beach Club

Mari Beach Club is a much smaller player than FINNS and Atlas and we didn’t expect this club to match the entertainment or spectacle of the bigger clubs.

It’s an attractive place with solid service (though the entry process could definitely be expedited) and very tasty food.

However, the food is expensive and the portions are tiny. Three potato croquettes for $10 in Bali? Ouch. They were excellent, mind you, but still croquettes.

The lack of shade on many of the day beds is simply not good enough and the relaxed vibe and sunset drinks just don’t make up for it.

7. Old Man’s

Old Man’s isn’t really a beach club, it’s an old-fashioned beach bar on a club-like scale and it’s not surprising it doesn’t get the highest review score.

It has no pools and no daytime entertainment because bars don’t have these things.

However, it does have a great happy hour, reasonably priced food and drinks and a semi-view of the beach at sunset.

It’s a great place for a warm-up session for a big night out or for a few drinks when you’re waiting for payday.

8. The Lawn

The Lawn is another small club and it does plenty of things well as it’s often very busy.

However, the taxi mafia around this club is beyond annoying, not being able to get a Grab or Gojek pick-up is not OK.

There’s no real entertainment, which we attribute to the scale of the club and that’s OK.

However, the drinks were among the worst we’ve had in any club. They looked amazing, but were nearly 100% ice with very little drink around them and that is the main reason for the low scores, drinking in Bali’s clubs is expensive, it has to be good value for money and it wasn’t.

9. Vue

Vue is part of the luxurious LV8 Hotel in Bali and we really wanted to like this place, however, our first road bump came when we found they don’t reveal the minimum spend until you get to the door and you can’t book day beds online as the website is only for hotel room bookings.

The entrance through the hotel is confusing and there are no staff around to help point the way. The staff inside the club weren’t very attentive either.

However, the club does have a nice pool and the food and drinks were good with a nice sunset view available.

We hope that Vue can clear up its first impressions because there’s a good club buried underneath them.

10. Favela Chic

Someone has to come last on a ranked list and for the moment in Canggu, that’s Favela Chic Beach Club (not to be confused with the upmarket La Favela restaurant).

This is more of a warung with aspirations than it is a beach club and that explains its low scores.

There’s no pool, you can’t book in advance, there’s no entertainment, food and drink are cheap but not amazing.

We’d go to Favela Chic if we wanted a chilled vibe by the sea and some cheap Bintangs during the day, but we definitely wouldn’t go here if we wanted a beach club experience.

Clubs Not Included In This Round-Up

Luna Beach Club (our rating score 55/100) and Warung Pantai (our rating score 63/100) are both too far outside of Canggu for them to make our top 10 but you might want to give them consideration if you’re willing to drive for a while.

We also have a separate “best beach clubs in Seminyak” piece which includes many of the other big beach club names on the island.

FAQs

What Is The Number One Beach Club In Bali?

In our opinion, the best beach club in Bali, by far, is FINNS Beach Club. It sets the current standard that all beach clubs on the island should aspire to.

It is the only beach club, to date, that we’ve given a perfect score to and given how much our review team often disagrees on our scoring, this is an incredible feat.

The biggest difference for us that makes FINNS stand out from other beach clubs is that there’s a real emphasis on ensuring you have an amazing time and that you want to stay, rather than trying to see how much cash can be extracted from you in as little time as possible.

Does Canggu Have Good Nightlife?

Yes! While Seminyak and Kuta are the traditional party spots of Bali, Canggu has been developing at a rapid rate.

And it’s not just beach clubs, there are night clubs, restaurants, bars, pubs and more in the area where you can have an amazing time and party all night long.

Are Beach Clubs In Bali Worth It?

Much depends on how you classify “worth it.” We love beach clubs, that’s why we put this site together but we have to acknowledge that if all you want is a drink, you can find one just as good and cheaper elsewhere most of the time.

However, if you want an amazing ocean view from an infinity pool while being treated to awesome entertainment and cold drinks with amazing food, we don’t think you can beat the beach club experience here in Bali.

A lot of people plan their holidays around the clubs they will visit on the island and competition for a day bed at the best clubs can be fierce, particularly in peak season.

What Is The Most Popular Beach In Canggu?

All of Canggu’s beaches are quite popular. Echo Beach gets the best of the surfing crowd, Berawa Beach brings in the beach club crowd and even Batu Bolong Beach is generally busy.

They’re not as crowded as the beaches in Seminyak, Kuta and Legian but they can get very busy at peak times too.

Is The Nightlife Better In Canggu Or Seminyak?

A lot depends on what you want from your nightlife. We think that Canggu has the best mix of nightlife on the island with something for everyone from sunset cocktails at a swim-up bar in one of the beach clubs to more casual venues serving beers by the sea to huge nightclubs.

Whereas, Seminyak tends to attract a fairly specific crowd of well-heeled youngsters keen to strut their stuff and to watch others do the same. The nightlife in Seminyak reflects this and tends to be more expensive than Canggu.

What’s Better Seminyak Or Canggu?

We are big fans of both areas of Bali and given that they’re next-door neighbours, you can easily visit both while on holiday here.

However, if we had to pick, we’d pick Canggu. It has a better mix of traditional Bali and modern Bali and it’s no surprise to us that it’s currently the most popular destination on the island.

Final Thoughts On The Best Beach Clubs, Canggu

We make no bones about it. If you can only go to one beach club during your time in Bali, it should be FINNS.

FINNS stands out head and shoulders above the competition and a good time is practically guaranteed there.

The other beach clubs in Canggu don’t always offer an equivalent experience but you can still have a good time at all of them.
