Are you passionate about having the best time in Bali? Then, you will be pleased to know that we are too.
Bali’s beach clubs are a vital part of the tourist experience on the island and we want to share the best of the best with you.
Looking for a beach club in Bali? We’ve got you covered! We’ve visited every single beach club in Bali to compile the ultimate list of beach clubs on the island.
This list is intended to be a ranked list and as we publish reviews and our final ranking scores, we will be amending the order of the clubs in the list on a regular basis.
Note: This is the biggest list of beach clubs in Bali and we need to be clear – we’ve flexed the definition of “beach club” as far as it can go to make this list as inclusive as possible. However, some of the places here, particularly those lower down the list, are stretching that definition and if you want traditional beach clubs, you should always choose something from higher up the list.
There are no pool clubs or jungle clubs on this list though, if it’s not near the beach, it’s not a beach club by any stretch of the imagination.
Note: The rankings in this list only apply to beach clubs with a current rating. Once we have rated a club, we will move it to the appropriate rank. We’re going live with 20 beach clubs ranked, but we expect to have many more to follow in the coming weeks.
They say it’s the world’s best beach club and we agree. There’s nowhere quite like FINNS in Bali and if you only spend time at one beach club, it should always be FINNS.
With three awesome pools, 11 bars (including 2 swim-up bars), 3 restaurants (St Tropez, Monsoon and Bondi), and endless incredible entertainment, you’re guaranteed to have a good time.
FINNS is also perfectly positioned for that sunset view over the Indian Ocean that Bali is so famous for and you just can’t beat a day lounging on the daybeds at FINNS.
FINNS VIP Beach Club adds another layer of benefits on top of the usual beach club experience and it’s the perfect place to be when you really want to feel special, there is an increased minimum spend to enjoy FINNS VIP service but it’s 100% worth it in our book.

Potato Head Beach Club is part of a bigger creative village project called Desa Potato Head. The beach club is our second pick on the island and it’s very different from the iconic beach club of FINNS.
That’s because Potato Head Beach Club is all about chilling out. Their oceanfront infinity pool is a place for soaking up the sun and watching the ocean waves lap at the shore in front of you.
The food is good and the drinks are always cold at Potato Head.
Our only real complaints about Potato Head are that the free entry area is isolated from the rest of the club and that the music is a bit bland. Nonetheless, it’s still one of the best beach clubs in Bali.

Ku De Ta, Seminyak is one of the oldest clubs in Bali but it doesn’t show as the club is regularly renovated.
Unfortunately, the live DJs can get a bit carried away at Ku De Ta and the volume can be very intrusive if you sit near the decks and speakers.
We’d opt for a seat on the top floor where you can enjoy a great view and still hear yourself think.

La Brisa is an extremely distinctive beach club because of its nautical-themed design. They’ve got local DJs spinning the disks all day long and you can get front-row seats to the ocean easily enough.
The food at La Brisa is tasty and reasonably priced and the servings are generous. There’s even a Sunday market at La Brisa where you can pick up some souvenirs for the folks back home.
We love that La Brisa was built from reclaimed wood and we find that La Brisa is a great spot for lunch as we warm up for a party in Canggu.

This is as much a restaurant as it is a club and that means the minimum spend is a little higher than in most clubs, but you do get a little more personal space for the investment.
They have live music on a Friday night, but we find that the volume is a bit high and it can drown out conversation.
Their breakfast buffet is very good though and something you can’t get at most beach clubs.

Reef is in the very swanky Apurva Kempinski hotel in Nusa Dua and the big attraction here (to non-guests of the hotel) is the excellent kids club.

This is the Bali franchise of the famous Café del Mar club from Ibiza.
It doesn’t draw quite the same level of crowds as it does in Ibiza but Café del Mar is still a decent enough option despite a relatively high minimum spend.

Locca is a very family-friendly beach club with a private area for the kids to play with toys and swim with mermaids!
The emphasis at Locca is on relaxing in the sun rather than partying the day away and it’s a cool club for conversation.
It’s not the greatest place to watch the sunset, though, as the nearby cliff spoils the best of the light show.
Be careful when booking events at Locca as they often force an early arrival with no pass outs for events that don’t start until late especially live DJs.

We were struck by how similar Mari is to FINNS from the outside with an entranceway that looks like they went to the same designer.
However, inside Mari is much smaller and more compact. We like the pool area but wish there was more shade available.
And while we loved the food, we felt that Mari Beach Club could have been a lot more generous with the portions. Paying $10 USD for 3 potato croquettes in Bali didn’t feel like value for money.

Atlas Beach Club (or Atlas Beach Fest and Atlas Super Club) is right next door to FINNS and bills itself as the biggest beach club in the world.
Unfortunately for Atlas, that’s not a massive advantage as the club is rarely full and it often feels quite empty due to its size.
The big draw at Atlas seems to be the nightclub where it has international DJs and artists playing. Otherwise, it never really lives up to the hype. It should be one of the best beach clubs on the island but it just isn’t at the moment.

However, while they do sell day passes, it’s often clear that resort guests would prefer that they didn’t as the pool area can get quite crowded at times.

The AYANA is a very attractive resort and beach access to Kubu Beach is easiest through the resort itself (though you don’t have to use the club to get beach access).

However, it’s quite expensive and access is preferentially reserved for AYANA guests.

ESA G is more of a beach bar attached to a dive school than a beach club in the strictest sense, however, they do hold regular party nights for both full moon and Saturdays and the foam parties are wild.
We should note that we’ve heard mixed reviews about their dive school (which we haven’t tested) and that this beach club is not family-friendly at all.

Cactus doesn’t have an infinity pool but the pool area is very nicely sculpted between two rows of palm trees and the vibe is very comfortable at this entry on our best beach clubs in Bali list.
The food is good, the service is excellent and overall, if you’re looking for a relaxed vibe but with plenty of people having a good time, this is a great choice of beach club.

This is one of the newest beach clubs in Bali and for the moment that means it’s not packed out unlike some of the other beach clubs on Nusa Penida island.
We were impressed by the infinity pool and the food and drinks, but it’s definitely a place for chilling and not for partying with your friends.

This may be the cheapest club in Bali because it’s not really a beach club when compared to the other clubs on this list.
Instead, it’s a nice spot for photographs on the beach and for some horse rides. It only costs 12,000 IDR to get in (less than $1 USD) and you probably won’t spend more than an hour or two there.
We may have ranked this place low on our list, but it’s still quite nice, it’s just not a beach club.

This is a very small beach bar with no real pretensions to anything else. We had a nice time when we went but the minimum spend is outrageous given the fact that this is basically just a food cart with some sun loungers.
We’ve heard from other people that the service here can be pretty poor too, there may be a worse beach club in Bali, but we’re not sure where it is.

Mana Uluwatu is on the Bukit Peninsula and it has a sustainable menu including free-range options.
It’s a relatively small place that has some pleasant views and the usual high prices associated with this part of the island.

FINNS Beach Club which includes FINNS VIP Beach Club is the world’s best beach club, according to many sources and also, according to our experience of beach clubs in Bali.
The service and experience at FINNS is simply head and shoulders above the other beach clubs on the island and we always recommend that if you only visit one beach club in Bali, that you make it FINNS.
Our team has visited all of Bali’s beach clubs and we always find ourselves heading back to FINNS, every week without fail.
Yes, we think that beach clubs in Bali are worth it. Of course, we wouldn’t be running a website dedicated to Balie’s beach clubs if we didn’t.
While there’s no doubt that Bali beach clubs are often a premium experience, we think they’re worth paying for. The best beach clubs in Bali provide an amazing arena to have fun, eat amazing food, drink cold drinks and really let your hair down.
Who doesn’t want to lounge in an infinity pool by the Indian Ocean watching the iconic sunset that makes this tropical island so famous around the world?
You’re on holiday, the minimum spend at beach clubs in Bali is far more reasonable than in most beach clubs around the world and with no entrance fee, the experience here is a bargain too.
There are three main centres for nightlife in Bali at the moment, Canggu, Seminyak and Kuta/Legian. You can also find some nightlife in Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, Ubud and Sanur but it’s not as vibrant and there’s not as much choice.
Canggu is the most popular part of the island because it has the best beach clubs in Bali and the biggest nightclub in Bali too.
However, Seminyak Beach and the surrounding area also offer plenty of expensive upmarket nightclubs and beach clubs and Kuta/Legian offers people are more inexpensive night out with an emphasis more on live music and a bar/pub scene.
It depends on how you define “Number 1” the most popular beach for beach clubs is Berawa Beach because it’s home to FINNS Beach Club.
The most popular beach in Bali for family-friendly fun, however, is Nusa Dua which is all about high-end resorts and its soft, warm golden sands.
We think most of Bali’s beaches are pretty good and even Kuta Beach which is often maligned in the press nowadays is gorgeous at sunset.
At some beach clubs in Bali, booking is mandatory, for the vast majority, they accept walk-in guests but you should be aware that some beach clubs “sell out” of daybeds (sun loungers) long before they open for the day.
So, if you want to walk-in, there’s a good chance that you can only find a seat at the bar or in a restaurant and won’t be able to lounge by the pools.
We always recommend that people book in advance, particularly if they’re going for a big day out at FINNS (VIP) Beach Club. The minimum spend usually equates to a couple of drinks and some nice food and it ensures you have the perfect experience.
There’s nothing better than sitting on a day bed, at golden hour, enjoying the Bali sunset under palm trees and enjoying the sounds of a talented DJ.
Yes, it’s free to enter FINNS. FINNS doesn’t charge an admission fee. As long as they have space, you are welcome to take a seat in their bar and restaurant areas at no charge and just pay for the food, drinks and tobacco products that you consume.
However, if you don’t book a day bed, you will need to rent a locker and a towel in order to use the pools and get access to the swim-up bars, etc.
So, we always recommend that you book a day bed and agree to a minimum spend. This means you get to use the pool for free.
It’s worth noting that there’s still no entrance fee when you accept a minimum spend, that’s just an amount you agree to spend on food, drinks and tobacco during your time in the beach club.
Most beach clubs in Bali have no minimum spend if you want to use the bars and restaurants. However, nearly all of them have a minimum spend requirement if you want to use a day bed.
Bali is home to some incredible beach clubs and while we always recommend that if you only go to one beach club, that you make it FINNS Beach Club, many people will visit several beach clubs during their holiday in Bali.
Our guide should help you decide which beach clubs are going to be on your holiday agenda. Have fun!
