Azul Beach Club is attempting to differentiate itself in Bali’s crowded beach club marketplace with Tiki Cocktails but is that really enough to justify spending a hundred dollars or more in this beach club?
We sent out our team to investigate and this is what they learned at Azul Beach Club.
Introduction – Getting To Azul Beach Club Bali
Azul Beach Club is in Legian/Kuta and it’s very easy to get to if you’re staying in that area. It’s also accessible from Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud, Denpasar, etc.
However, the popularity of this area means that traffic can be very heavy and you will want to set off early to be certain of getting to a reservation on time.

What’s Inside Azul Beach Club Bali?
Azul Beach Club is mainly a restaurant with a tiki bar boasting its own signature craft cocktails (and even its own custom-made glassware designed by local professionals to ensure that the sipping experience is unique).
There is a small infinity pool as well as a jacuzzi on the second floor of Azul Beach Club.
Our Review Breakdown For Azul Beach Club Bali
All of our reviews are conducted in the same fashion to ensure fairness. A team of our reviewers visited Azul Beach Club and then graded the club out of 5 (1 – worst to 5 – best) in a series of 20 categories.

Pre-Club Advertising
Azul Beach Club Bali doesn’t seem to go in for pre-club advertising, at least, as far as we’ve seen and we do look for adverts pretty hard.
There’s a decent website for this beach club but that’s about as far as it goes and while the location of Azul Beach Club Bali means that it’s rarely empty. It’s also rarely packed out.
We’d like to see them put a bit more effort into this and make it busy at all times as so much of the beach club experience rides on having people around you having fun too.
Location
This spot in Kuta is the perfect place for a lot of tourists to get to as it’s within easy reach of Kuta, Canggu, and Seminyak and even for people coming from a bit further afield.
It’s within walking distance of plenty of bars, restaurants and shops too which means if you get bored of Azul Beach Club Bali, you won’t lack for entertainment.
However, this is one of the busiest parts of the island and it means that traffic can be pretty bad, particularly at peak times of the day.
We’d strongly recommend allowing for a lot of additional travel time if you want to secure your day beds on time.
Booking Process & Seating Options
Azul Beach Club Bali uses Chope, a popular restaurant booking platform here in Bali, to provide a booking service which it hosts through its website.
It’s not the most elegant of solutions, mind you, and while you can easily book seats in the restaurants at Azul Beach Club Bali and the cabanas, for some reason, you can’t book the day beds.
That means you need to be a walk-in guest to get a sun lounger and we don’t understand that. Coming from any distance with no guarantee of day beds is a big gamble.
Entry Fee
There is no entrance fee at Azul Beach Club Bali and we heartily approve of that. We think everyone should be able to enter a beach club venue and take a look around without having to commit to anything at all.
Sure, if you decide to stay, you will at least need to buy some drinks (they have their own tiki bar boasting their own signature craft cocktails using handpicked local ingredients and their drinks from the traditional mai tais to the tipsy tea are pretty good).
But you should be free to decide that the tiki cocktails and infinity pool are not for you and walk out without spending any cash too.
Minimum Spend
There is no minimum spend if you want to sit inside the restaurant, with the exception of the top floor of Azul Beach Club Bali which is for up to 15 people (all of whom must be over 15 years old) and has a minimum spend of 6 million IDR for the entire party.
This was enough to win Azul a place on our coveted list of the best beach clubs with no minimum spend requirements.
However, if you want to use their cabanas it’s 750,000 IDR per person and the day beds (which are only single beds) are 150,000 IDR each.
These are reasonable prices, particularly when you consider the cost of the “sipping experience” for the drinks and the fairly pricey food inside, you won’t have any problem going through the minimum spend at Azul Beach Club.
Welcome And Security
The welcome at Azul Beach Club Bali is friendly enough but it’s also not memorable in any way and it’s one of the things that most beach clubs here could improve.
Make the arrival of every guest memorable, then they’ll want to stay longer as they will think they’re in the perfect place for a good time.
There is also a bag check at Azul Beach Club Bali and we think this is good news as it helps to ensure everyone’s safety in the venue.
Inclusions
If you’re using the pool, you will be provided with a towel free of charge. This doesn’t only apply to the minimum spend customers (as it does in most beach clubs) but also to anyone in the restaurant who has ordered food or drinks.
This is a bit better than some other beach clubs, however, there’s no premium or VIP service at the Azul Beach Club that could help it stand out from the crowd.
Service
Bali is world famous for its hospitality and that means beach clubs have to work really hard to stand out in this category.
We thought the service at Azul Beach Club was friendly but it didn’t stand out among the many other beach clubs with similar levels of service.
Entertainment
Azul Beach Club doesn’t offer constant entertainment like our favourite beach club, FINNS, does. But there are regular events here that add to the vibe.
Mostly, the music is piped though and that’s always a little disappointing.
Pool Quality
The pool area is on the second floor of Azul Beach Club and it has a pleasant view over the beach and ocean.
There’s also a jacuzzi on this floor that’s open to guests to enjoy a relaxing time.
The water in both of these facilities was clean and we’d be happy to dive in and chill out here any day.
Menu/Drinks Pricing
Azul Beach Club is a restaurant at heart and that means that their main focus is on selling food.
Unfortunately, we felt that the food was very high priced in Azul Beach Club and it was much more expensive than at other beach clubs.
We couldn’t find much on the menu that came in at less than 200K (plus tax, plus service) and that’s quite steep for a meal by the pool in the sun here in Bali.
The drinks were more reasonably priced, however, and were in line with what we’ve come to expect at beach clubs.
Food And Drink Quality
The food is better than average, though we felt that at the price tags here, it ought to be better still.
We really enjoyed our meal and would eat here again, but we didn’t think it was the best beach club we’d been to for food and to justify the sticker price, it needs to be.
The tiki cocktails are good though and they’re more than strong enough to justify their price tag.
Sunset View
It very much depends on where you are in Azul Beach Club as to what kind of sunset view you’re going to enjoy.
If you’re on the first floor, you can’t see the beach and you can’t see the ocean which isn’t great.
Get up higher though and you get the kind of sunset view that people come to Bali especially to see.
Music And Ambiance
The music was very much about creating a chilled relaxing vibe but it was piped in rather than a DJ seeking to attune themselves with their audience.
We felt that the overall vibe was pleasant and welcoming without being much more than that.
Payment Options
You can pay by cash or card pretty much anywhere inside Azul Beach Club but there’s no option for QRIS, e-wallet or cryptocurrency payments.
Exit Process
Getting out of Azul Beach Club is fairly easy, you just walk back out the way that you came in and you will be wished a warm farewell by the door staff.
Transportation
Getting to Azul Beach Club is easy enough and you can park nearby in a paid car park if you bring your own vehicle (it’s worth noting that at busy times, parking can be very thin on the ground in Kuta, though and you may struggle to find a space).
Grab and Gojek can drop you off here easily too.
However, on the way back, there are taxi mafia in the area and you may find that you have to wait a long time for Grab or Gojek to turn up due to the traffic.
We recommend booking from inside the club and heading outside when you’re sure your ride is waiting for you.
Social Media Presence
Azul Beach Club does have a social media presence but it’s not regularly updated and the photos and videos aren’t always pro-quality.
It’s a decent showcase of what to expect in the venue, but like many other venues in Bali at the moment, they seem to prefer showcasing an empty venue.
Other/General Comments
A tiki bar boasting your own signature craft cocktails made from handpicked local ingredients and served in custom-made glassware designed to enhance the sipping experience sounds great but it’s not quite enough to make Azul Beach Club stand out from the crowd.
If the food was as good as the drinks, it might bring us back more regularly.
Our Overall Opinion Of Azul Beach Club Bali
Azul Beach Club wouldn’t be our first choice of beach club in Bali but it’s not a bad place to spend a day by the infinity pool sipping tiki cocktails, either.
We just wish the food was less expensive and that there was a bit more in the way of entertainment and vibe.

Can You Swim At Azul Beach Club Bali?
Yes, you can swim at Azul Beach Club but we should stress that you can only swim if you are over 15 years old.
Younger children are banned from the pool area at Azul Beach Club and several other areas of the club too.
This may take a shine off the premium rum in the signature craft cocktails as you will be expected to keep an eye on your kids rather than swimming if you take them to this club.
What Can You Do At Azul Beach Club Bali?
You can swim in the pool, you can enjoy their tiki cocktails, eat food and relax on the furniture if you agree to a minimum spend. They also occasionally host events in Azul Beach Club which may add to your experience if your visit coincides with an event.
Is Azul Beach Club Bali A Family-Friendly Venue?
Azul Beach Club allows families in the majority of the restaurant excluding the top floor. However, to access most of the rest of the club, your children must be over the age of 15.
So, overall without any access to infinity pools or other forms of play equipment, we don’t think Azul Beach Club is overly family-friendly.
There are other venues in Bali where you’re going to have a better time as a family.
Who Owns Azul Beach Club Bali?
Azul Beach Club is owned by the Bali Mandira Resort (of which it is a part). This property is owned by Mr. Agus Pribadi a local businessman.
Final Thoughts On Azul Beach Club Bali
Azul Beach Club is a fairly small beach club that works hard to put its own spin on the beach club concept and they have paid some attention to the small details.
It’s a good spot to relax for an afternoon in the sun in Bali or to stop for their own signature craft cocktails at sunset.
However, it doesn’t really offer enough entertainment or variety to make it your only beach club in Bali. You could also check out White Rock Beach Club or Infinity Beach Club too.
Though if you have to choose just one place, we’d recommend FINNS in Canggu, but otherwise, Azul Beach Club is quite pleasant.
